Q: I have phonak audeo devices, and are around 10 years old -- will these units work with my device? how can i determine that the receiver is defective?

Yes. However, you will also need to order a "CRT compatability adapter" to make it work. They come in a package of 10 from Local Battery. I just got a receiver for my 10 year old Phonak hearing aid. I thought they had sent the wrong part because I ordered size 2 for right ear, and they sent me a 2xs. I wrote to LocalBattery via my amazon order site, and they informed me it is the same size, just updated and sent me an adaptor. I viewed a youtube video to see how to change it. It was a little tricky because the adaptor is tiny. I had my husband hold a flashlight and used tweezers. The hearing aide works like new again! The audeogist was going to charge me $350 to fix it, or $2500-3000 for a new one. The wire had broken. I imagine if yours is old the wire may be worn and not transmitting. The new wire comes attached to the receiver.

Q: I'm having trouble determining the size for my audio yes 5 aid. Painted on is "2xS". Nothing so clear as the '3' stamped in, as in your picture.

I have phonak audeo reciever 2XS tubing# 2. 2 prong plug. will this replace mine

Q: Can you change a left hearing aid into a right hearing aid by changing the speaker receive from a left to a right in a rite hearing aid?

Yes. When I received my Phonak aids, the audiologist explained to me that the only difference between the left and right aids are the red and blue dots used for ID and placing a right or left RIC into the aid. Each aid then has to be programmed individually. I have Phonak Naida Q aids. This may or may not apply to other aids but seems reasonable. Why would you produce an asymmetric aid?

Q: Will it fit my Rexton 4.0 mini receiver P 65 3L

I doubt it. From looking at images I believe the connectors are different.
