I used to carry in my pocket along with the rest of my pocket dump and hated having to dig for it. This holder is snug, waterproof and when you need it, very easy to retrieve. I do mount the lighter upside down with the lighter bits inside the rubber boot keeping the lighter dry and the lever from being accidentally pressed.
