A Winning Solution
Finally! I have found a reasonably priced, basic dry eye drop. They are easy to use, and I don't have to reorder as frequently. I have paid more and been disappointed. This is a really good product.

The Hangsun ET100 Eye Steamer and TheraTears Eye Drops combination has been my personal game-changer
For years, I've been battling severe dry eye. It's been a frustrating journey of trying countless eye dropsโsome offered temporary relief, while others ironically left my eyes feeling even drier and more irritated. I felt like I was just putting a band-aid on a problem that kept coming back. That all changed after a recent appointment with a new ophthalmologist. He didn't just hand me another sample bottle. Instead, he explained the science behind my discomfort. He told me that for most people, dry eye isn't just about a lack of "water"; it's about the oily, protective layer of our tears evaporating too quickly because the glands in our eyelids (meibomian glands) are clogged with hardened oils. His simple yet revolutionary advice was: "First, unclog and melt the oils. Then, add the moisture." He recommended a combination therapy: using a dedicated eye steamer followed by preservative-free artificial tears. Taking his advice, I purchased the Hangsun ET100 Eye Steamer and paired it with TheraTears Eye Drops. Let me tell you, this routine has been nothing short of transformative. Hereโs my step-by-step experience: Step 1: The "Unclogging" with the Hangsun ET100 Steamer I use this device for a solid 10-15 minutes each session. The steam it produces is fantasticโconsistent, gentle, and the temperature is perfectly warm and controlled. It doesn't feel scalding or risky. This isn't just a warm, damp cloth; it's a true, targeted "facial sauna" for my eyes. As I sit back with my eyes closed, I can almost imagine the gentle heat melting the waxy, hardened gunk that's been clogging my eyelid glands for years. This step is all about preparing the canvas, allowing my own natural, high-quality oils to flow back onto the eye surface and create that crucial "lock-water film." Step 2: The "Hydration" with TheraTears After the steamer has done its magic, I wait a minute for my eyes to cool down and then apply the TheraTears drops. This is where the magic happens. Before, when I used drops alone, the relief was fleeting. Now, because my eyes have their own freshly restored protective lipid layer, the TheraTears don't just evaporate into thin air. The moisture actually locks in and lasts for hours. The difference is palpable. My eyes don't just feel wet; they feel soothed, comfortable, and genuinely refreshed. The very first time I completed this combined routine, I noticed a significant difference. The constant gritty, sandy feeling was vastly reduced, and the comfort level was something I hadn't experienced in a long, long time. If you, like me, have suffered from stubborn dry eye and have found solo eye drops to be insufficient, I cannot recommend this approach enough. The Hangsun ET100 and TheraTears combination has been my personal game-changer. Of course, always consult with your eye doctor first, but based on my experience, this logical "unclog and hydrate" method is the most effective solution I've ever found.

Great value for the price.
Works great keeping my irritation down. I put the drops in just before I put my contacts in. Keeps my eyes moist. Less redness from my contacts.

Comparison
Just had LASIK surgery, and since Iโll be using a lot of eye drops over the next few months, decided to buy one of each of the recommended drops on my aftercare list. They only recommended preservative free drops, and the photo show the four brands Iโve been using. Slime factor: Optase - the slimiest (thickest) Systane Complete PF - also pretty slimey Refresh Relieva PF - not very slimey at all Thera tears - least slimey (feels like regular water) The Optase is expensive, but it works well. It does leave my cheeks with a slime residue, so I splash or wipe my face off a few times a day. Thatโs not necessary, but I prefer to. It doesnโt crud or anything. I think โ300 dosesโ is a touch optimistic. I did the math and for me, it came out to closer to 200 or so. I gravitate to the Systane the most often, all said and done. It does crud my eyelashes a bit after several uses in a row, but it keeps my eyes lubricated a good long time. I found it similar to Optase with a little less slime factor. I sometimes splash off my eyes when using this one too. I like Refresh for different reasons, it feels light and clean due itโs more watery consistency. But it doesnโt keep my eyes lubricated as long, so I keep this at the ready when I do use it. I have to reapply more often. Lastly, Theratears. It doesnโt really market as PF, but in small print, the box does say itโs โpreservative free in the eye.โ Not sure what that means, but it was on my recommended list so I bought it. This is most like a โregularโ eye drop. Feels very light and watery, and comes in a regular dropper bottle without the vacuum PF nub. Works well and I got a bigger bottle at a good price point. All in all, I like all of them for different reasons and like to vary it up day to day depending on what Iโm doing. If Iโm out and about with less time to reapply, I go for the Optase or Systane. When Iโm lounging at home with more leeway to reapply, I go with Refresh and Theratears because it feels less gunky. Hope this helps.

love these
Love these drops. I get dry eye randomly since having lasik. Especially at work where the air is constantly blowing and I'm staring at a computer screen all day. These drops work very quick and the relief actually lasts. I don't have to keep putting more and more in. Also the bottle is huge and will last a long time

Having used the Thera Tears individual capsules for a couple of years I was getting quite annoyed by the number of wasted ones, when the plastic top twisted off but the liquid wouldn't come out. You don't get any such problem with the eye drops and if anything I find them more effective than the individual doses. Perhaps there isn't as much waste, because the drops are so easy to apply. Thera Tears are the only eye drops that help my dry eye problem, and since they're not available on prescription I think this is the best way to buy the product. I'm very pleased to have found the eye drops, and will continue to use them in this form.
