All the best in one beverage!
Recently I decided to diversify my drinking habits a little for a variety of reasons. I am very concerned about my health, and although I enjoy a nice cup of coffee (or two) in the afternoon, I was troubled with the idea that it’s not good for me to drink so much coffee. I am also prone to anxiety and all the caffeine seems to set me off. I did some research online looking for a healthy alternative that would give me the pick me up I need, but not cause the jitters and aggravate my anxiety. I read a lot about the health benefits of green tea which lead to me reading about the added benefits of matcha. Matcha is the whole green tea leaf ground up into a powder (rather than water brewed with the leaves to make a weaker tea) so it has all the benefits of green tea only much, much more so. I was completely unfamiliar with it before but the benefits sounded amazing so I had to give it a try. Since then I’ve tried a couple of different kinds of matcha. This is Chinese Matcha which is slightly different than the Japanese variety I tried previously. Reading the positive reviews here prompted me to give this product a try. I like the fact that it is 100% organic matcha. Opening the bag, it smells very fresh. The smell is strong, but the taste is not overpowering at all. The effect is both invigorating and calming. The green tea has properties that calm you and balance out the caffeine. It's an overall much more soothing effect than coffee. It’s really easy to make this into a delightful afternoon tea. The powder is finely milled so it’s easier to mix into a beverage. There is no need to sift the powder ahead of time. Just add ½ teaspoon to a mug and add hot water, whisk (I use the frother in place of a manual whisk) and voila! Lattes are almost as simple especially if you have the frother. Add warm milk instead of water and froth! Both ways make a delightful afternoon drink that is both good and good for you.

Absolutely Perfect! Better than some expensive brands!
My family LOVES green tea, especially matcha. It’s something that just can’t be imitated and it’s hard to find some that’s not only “good” but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. We used to drink our local brand, which is very, very good, but $20 for 8oz? We needed an alternative, or at least something that we’d like to drink day-to-day and leave the expensive stuff for special occasions! TL;DR This stuff is amazing! We have a lot of different requirements in my family. My wife likes hers sweet, my Grandma likes hers creamy, my Grandfather has to control his sugar, so it cannot be sweet and I like it lightly sweet AND creamy! What’s great is that it comes completely unsweetened! It can actually be a challenge to find some that isn’t sweetened. Trader Joes has a really nice matcha for an okay price, but you cannot get it without a whole bunch of sugar and other sweeteners. It’s great as a gift, but not good enough for the family! So, after trying out this kind, I have to say, it blows away our expensive favorite. The color is perfect, the aroma is to die for and it tastes perfect. It’s light, it’s earthy, it tastes exactly how it’s supposed to taste without any filler or weird colorants. (I once tried a brand that was neon-green! Bleh!) In addition, the packaging states that half a teaspoon is perfect for an 8oz glass, normally I do a whole teaspoon, but I tried it according to the packaging and it was perfect! I got the 12oz bag, and if that’s all it takes to make a perfect cup, this is going to last a long while! I might just pick up the 1lb tin next! I love this tea! The color, aroma and taste are just perfect, check out my pictures! I frothed some organic soy milk and made a hot soy matcha latte! Nothing better on cold nights with the family!

Great taste and great price.
I've ordered from this company multiple times and have always been very satisfied. It tastes great and the price is well worth it.

Not nearly as bright green as the picture indicates, but still OK
I have had multiple kinds of Matcha Green Tea before. I've paid $30-40 for a tiny little tin, and I've paid $9.99 for a 1 lb. bag. I've seen excellent and horrible quality. This Matcha is somewhere in the middle. It's not NEARLY the color that the picture indicates here on Amazon. It's a decent color green, but not super duper fresh, where you would see the Neon Green color. For the price I paid, I'm not complaining. This Green Tea is enough to last me several months. For what I pay for a Green Tea Latte at Starbucks, this thing will pay for itself in 5 days. I'm experimenting with ways to make a healthy Matcha without having it be loaded with sugar. Xylitol seems to be the Golden Ticket. It doesn't taste like my Starbucks Green Tea Latte, but it tastes good enough, and makes me feel good. With Matcha, more isn't better. I used to come from the train of thought of, "If 1/2 tsp is good, 1 tsp is better!". I actually prefer less of a dose, after years of drinking this stuff. I find that 1/2 tsp single doses works quite well. If you're looking for a buzz, then maybe you want to bump it up, but I've realized any sort of artificial buzz isn't healthy, so I stick with a healthy dose. In conclusion, is this the best quality Matcha? Obviously not, based on the price. But it's not the worst I've had either. In in all, it's a good deal, and I'll probably continue to buy and use this, unless I triple my income and can afford the $30-40 tiny little tins on a regular basis, LOL.
