Dakine Women's Brooke Messenger Bag with Padded Laptop Sleeve

I wanted a bag that looked professional, semi-casual, and could accommodate several books, folders, notebooks, and a laptop on occasion. This bag works perfectly to meet my needs. Inside the cover flap are two zippered compartments. One is padded to protect a small to medium sized laptop, but it could also be used for books and folders. The other compartment is divided lengthwise into two smaller compartments. On the inside of this smaller divider are slots to slip pens and pencils, including spaces large enough to fit thick dry erase markers and highlighters. Also on the side of this smaller, inside divider is a mesh, zippered pouch for loose items. Other reviewers of this product thought the bag seemed bulky like luggage. I disagree. It is a little bulky when overloaded with heavy books or a laptop, but pretty lightweight otherwise. The pads inside to protect a laptop may make it slightly bulkier than other messenger bags that aren't designed for this purpose, but it's not overly padded. The shoulder pad is nice and makes carrying heavy loads comfortable. The material inside and out appears to be quite durable. The interior of the bag is dark green. The exterior has a nice pattern and looks like it won't show dirt very easily. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase and expect to use this bag for many years.

Colors are not as vivid as they appear online.

Though it is larger than I expected, the size is great. The negatives are: no padding, no handle (only strap), and the shoulder strap has no 'traction' strip so it does not stay on my shoulder. All in all, I'm still searching for another and will get rid of this one, soon.

Bought this for teen daughter. She loved it. Didn't quite make it through one season of school before the strap started to tear away from the bag.It was put to the test, filled with books and laptop everywhere she carried it. For the money, I would have expected better.

Very attractive bag; roomy with plenty of pockets for organization. The lining is a surprisingly pleasing lime green color. The exterior material is sturdy; however I'm not crazy about the texture. It's made from recycled plastic water bottles. It feels and even smells a little cheap...but on the plus side, it's holding up very well, and I tend to "abuse" my bag. Overall, very pleased and would recommend.

The last bag I got was for my new latptop and the ad made you think you were going to get a bag that could hold your laptop plus a couple books. This bag is definitely what I was looking for. It is pretty big. It is definitely more of a school/laptop bag than a purse as it is large but its perfect. It has the pain padded pocket for laptop plus 1 thick text book. Then a front pocket with the organizational space (multiple smaller pockets, pencil holders, place for cell phone, a mesh pocket) a large hidden pocket and then you still put a binder in that pocket if you want. The only downside is it is a little heavy and my shoulders and back get a little messed up after school days so I do think I may get a rolling bag to slide this one onto (because it has a slit in the back so you can secure it to a rolling bag.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas and it works well for her since she can carry her laptop and other items. She often uses it as an overnight bag to go to her Grandmas for the weekend. holds her clothes and laptop well. She loves the pattern and overall quality of the product. I would not hesitate to recommend or order again!

I like this bag a lot, it holds a great deal of stuff, has lots of little pockets for pens and things and it's good for traveling. I use it as my carry-on and can fill it with with more than just work stuff and my computer. I also like that it has the band in the back so I can slide it over my suitcase handle when I'm walking through airports and give my back a rest (because I carry too much!). However, the clasp in the front broke on the first use. Because it has zippers, everything is closed in, so I stuck some velcro on to keep the flap closed and it's still functional.
