Solid Knife. Buy it.
Couldn't ask for a better knife at this price point. The knife is sturdy, sharp, and fits perfectly in my hand. The blade is a very good size and I really love the handle. Big enough to do whatever you need without feeling like crocodile dundee. Hunting, fishing, camping, around the yard, was lo whatever. Like the matte finish on the blade. The sheath is plastic. Nothing to write home about. It holds the knife firmly and secures firmly to my belt. The cable slot is meh. If you want a knife you can actually use, this is it.

Great knife, great price!
I was impressed with this knife right out of the box. It looks good and is well balanced. The handle fits my hand perfectly and the handle material feels good in my hand. The grip feels like nothing could break your grip loose from it. As with most of the other reviews, the only negative thing I could say about it is the sheath, but it is hardly enough to mention. The sheath clip is too low, so when the knife is in it then it is a little top heavy but I understand that you have to give up some things here and there to have a lightweight, concealable knife. But, the knife I got for the price I paid makes this knife 5 stars all day long! The thing I like the best about it is what's not there. When I turn it over and look at the backside of the blade, just above the hilt, it is missing the word "CHINA"!

Impressively Simple
I never have been infatuated with SOG products; I always thought their knives were usually overpriced for what they were. The Ace fixes that issue right off the bat - at $15 it's about half the price of similar SOG knives I've seen. First impressions are good. It's a light blade for its size, and its design is a simple, no-nonsense one that I find very appealing. There are no questionably-necessary skull crushers/glass breakers, nor 50 different attachment points for the sheath. It's a knife. A tool, plain and simple. It'll cut rope, fish skin, and deer hide without noticeable dulling. If you want something to defend yourself with, I'm sure it'll do that pretty well, too. As far as criticisms go - so far, I don't have many. The edge it came with wasn't the best, but it didn't take much effort to get it honed. The handle gets a bit slick when coated in water, grease/oil, or blood, but that's true of most handles. Some jimping on the handle up near the spine of the blade would probably help. I'll update this as I carry the knife, so if it suddenly snaps off at the handle I'll just fill the review with poo emojis or something.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Budget-Friendly Fixed Blade — Durable, Sharp, and Reliable
The SOG Ace Field Fixed Blade really impressed me, especially for the price point. It feels sturdy right out of the box, with a solid full-tang design that gives it way more strength than I expected. The blade came sharp and has held its edge well through camping tasks, light bushcraft, and everyday cutting jobs. The handle has great ergonomics—comfortable grip, no hotspots—and it feels secure even when wet. The included sheath is simple but surprisingly functional, with good retention and easy access. What stands out most is how dependable this knife feels. It’s lightweight enough to carry without noticing, yet tough enough to handle real outdoor use. For anyone who wants a reliable fixed blade without spending a fortune, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended for camping, hiking, or just keeping in your pack as an all-purpose field knife!

One of my best knives
I bought this for my girlfriend and lets just say it's mine now. The overall size of the knife is perfect for my 5'5" girlfriend but it's also a perfect size for me. (I'm 5'10" and have medium sized hands) The handle is awesome and the grip is super comfortable. The handle also has a great spot that allows you very comfortably choke up on the blade. the jimping on the back of the blade is also very comfortable. it's not too much where it digs into your thumb but its extremely grippy. The blade is good, very sharp and something of the quality I would expect from a $60 knife. My only complain with this knife is that the handle completely encases the tang so im not sure if its full tang or not. The sheath is kinda cheap feeling but the seat-belt cutter although gimmicky is kinda cool i guess. overall though I am buying more of these as gifts.

kraton handle would be better
knife and sheath is good quality, I like knife stone washed finish very much, sharp edge, sharp and strong point for its thikness, good jimping, good large handle, excelent size handle for me, i have medium size hands and for me it is best size, sheath clip is good, medium strongness+you can remove it if don't want, sheath holds knife very good but i would't carry it uppside down, BEWARE with wet hands or wet handle it slips very much, kraton handle would be better but with kraton it would be much more expensive, for the price it is very good knife.

Good not amazing
Nice knife but my main concern is that the balance is off; the handle is too heavy. The handle material is comfortable. The blade is sturdy and sharp. I tested it by hacking small bamboo branches off the main pole...only one tiny edge roll. The blade clips into the shealth nicely. The rope/string cutting feature on the shealth is a good idea but doesn't really accomplish it's goal easily.
