Pure ammonia is not to be added if there will be fish in the tank, only when doing a fish-less cycle; the fish and their waste will supply the ammonia for the bacteria to grow and survive; be sure to keep testing the parameters of the water with a test kit; look up the nitrogen cycle **Q: Is it supposed to be pink/purple? Thank you.** A: I havent seen a purple color yet so far.
