This muddler is perfect. Nice and sturdy, with enough area at the bottom to press out all juice I need out of a lime and mint leaves to make a perfect mojito!

Very happy with this purchase

My first muddler had a stainless handle with hard plastic muddler end. The only problem was it was too short to get down to the bottom of my shaker and taller glasses so I purchased a similar muddler with a longer handle. The longer handle muddler allowed liquids into the handle and would leak where the handle and plastic muddler end came together. I didn't think was too sanitary.The wood muddler handle is plenty long enough and the handle is designed for both comfort and grip. I don't put this muddler in the dishwasher and only hand wash. The base of the muddler is serrated and not flat like some wooden muddlers. A must for anyone who enjoys making their own cocktails or a bartender.

It's pretty darn small -- smaller than given dimensions of 10"x1.2". My metal tape says it's 9-3/4" long, 1-1/16" diameter at the business end. I needed a muddler for pounding cabbage and other fermentable vegetables to get their juices released. I imagine this thing is going to be fairly inefficient. However, it was a really good price, and one of the few unvarnished muddlers available through Amazon. The other unvarnished muddler I saw was over $20. This one was around $5. I don't understand why so many muddlers are varnished -- who wants that coming off on their crushed herbs or vegies? There is no free return shipping, so I will keep this although it was probably a mistake on my part to order it. If all you want to do is crush some mint in a glass for your julep, it's probably just fine. It does appear to be one solid piece of wood, not a laminate. Other note: the business end has over 20 sharp diamond shaped points about 1/4" deep, much like a meat tenderizer tool. May not be appropriate for squashing fine herb leaves for drinks, but I'm not a bartender.

I’ve had this mainly for muddling my old fashioned Demerara sugar cubes, but as warm weather hits I’m moving to fruit and leaf muddling. Anyway, it’s worked great, washes well. Doesn’t stain (so far) and holds up. Does everything a muddler should do including being long enough. It’s also attractive. So, yeah. It’s inexpensive, attractive and useful. Sounds like a keeper.

I came across this muddled and decided to use it for the fermentation process of my veggies. It is very nicely made and holds up to everything I have put in its path.

Works well

I bought this muddler for it's length - supposedly 12 inches - but it arrived and the packaging says 9.75 inches, which is accurate. It's too short for my big mason jars, where I am fermenting shrubs. Bummer. Other than that, the device is nice. I like the wood and the feel.

Just as described, good quality, easy to use and long enough for tall glasses.Follow recommended hand washing for longevity as is with any wooden utensil!
