Outstanding text/monograph on solar energy
This is an excellent book on solar energy going from fundamentals to applications. The focus is on solar thermal, though there is a chapter on solar photovoltaics, and it also discusses renewable energy sources in general. The book is written in an extremely lucid style by two renowned professors in the field. The fourth edition of 2018 captures the recent developments in this fast-changing field. Highly recommended.
