Light Aluminum Pan with Durable Non-Stick Coating
I have been using this 8-inch non-stick pan from Vollrath for almost a full year now, and it is probably the most used pan in my kitchen. I used it every morning to cook scrambled eggs (it can fit 2-3 large eggs comfortably, and maybe 4-5 at the most), and I also use it most days for lunch or dinner when browning ground meat or sausages. Thus far, the non-stick coating has remained about 95% intact--there are some signs of wear/damage to the non-stick layer (no major peeling or flaking, but some very slight blemishes or increased surface roughness), and these signs of wear/damage are likely from the few times my roommate has used wooden utensils when cooking with the pan. At all other times, the pan has only seen silicone utensils. Overall, the non-stick coating has held up significantly better than other off-brand pans that I have purchased on Amazon. The pan is made of aluminum and is therefore very light. This may be a downside to some, but it isn't a problem for me.NOTE: The pan's handle does absorb heat pretty quickly from the body of the pan. There is a blue silicone(?) sleeve on the handle so that you can hold the pan without burning yourself. However, just be careful that you don't grab the handle further down past where the blue sleeve reaches, otherwise you'll come into contact with the hot aluminum.I had heard that Vollrath is a brand commonly used in some restaurants, and based on the durability of the non-stick coating, the minimal weight (which makes the pan easy to handle), and quick heat transfer (which makes the pan heat up quickly), I can understand why that is.

Purchased this brand and style for at a minimum the last 10 years… Lightweight, easy to clean… Worth the price. They do wear out.. depending on use… Will buy again and again.

Great pan for small meals
This is almost the perfect size pan. I will be ordering a 10” pan to complement this one. These pans are great. They clean easy, even heat distribution and can go in the oven. I have a 12” which I use 4 times a week and thought this one would be perfect for small dishes but it is a little too small so I’ll be getting the 10” size also.

I hoped it would be good, it wasn't
I've now used this for over a year. At first it was great and my hopes were up. I didn't consider it a cheap pan and wanted it to last. It didn't. I did not use metal tools, I was very careful, nothing burned on it, it was normal use. The finish flaked off just like other cheap pans. Don't waste your time with this unless you only plan to use it for a short time.I'm going to try again. Went with an expensive Made In steel pan. So far, excellent. Time will tell.

Loses its non stick over time
After a few years, you have to use a little oil or butter to maintain the non stick.

It makes me happy every time I use it!
This is a rare pan in that the non-stick surface works like a charm. It heats quickly and evenly. I picked it because the rivets holding the handle on are flush inside and covered with non-stick. The handle is sturdy and the plastic (silicone?) cover works well. I use it constantly now and it makes me happy every time I do. I don't have a single complaint about it.
