made shifting smoother
well, not much to say as i feel it smoother on shifting. only downside is the bottle opening. can't really find a right pump for it. i end up just cutting it down to the first top and was able to use a pump that i had. it didn't screw on so i just had to be extra careful not to tip it over. used it in a 2007 carolla s manual transmission that had about 132k miles on it. looks like previous owner never changed it.

Not 100% satisfied but happy
I used it on my Mazda, and I am sure Red Line is better than Mazda factory filled oil. Below are my personal rating for comparing Red Line Oil and Factory Oil. Cold Shifting: Red Line 8 out of 10, Factory Oil 6 out of 10 When gear box reaches working temperature: Red Line 9.5 out of 10, Factory Oil 7.5 out of 10 When driving in a stop and go condition for more than two hours: Red Line Oil 8.5 out of 10, Factory Oil 7 out of 10 Overall: Red Line 9 out of 10, Factory Oil 7 out of 10.

The best choice for you classic VW Transaxle
This is the best gear oil for Classic Volkswagen Type 1 & 2 transaxles. It provides the requires GL-4 rating needed while adding the benefit of quieter operation and buttery smooth gear engagement in any temperature. Be aware the synthetic nature of this gear oil will allow more oil seepage than regular non-synthetic, but it is nothing to be alarmed about. Gear oil loss over the years is negligible.

better than I expected.
I've heard a lot of good things about this gear oil for my transmission and I'm going to try it out. So far so good.

My tacoma transmission felt much smoother after swapping to this ...
My tacoma transmission felt much smoother after swapping to this. I now run redline in all my transmissions, transfer cases, differentials. I use the appropriate stuff in my Harley also.

The best, period.
This is by far the best gear oil on the market. Smoother shifts and longer life, I'll never use anything else. I use this in my trans, transfer case, and both differentials.

Avoid this Seller.Zero communication and misleading Product Description. No idea why Amazon allows this nonsense.

There's no doubt this oil made down shifting into 2nd and 1st in a 2002 Tacoma smoother, but it's expensive.
