Arte Viva Grazioso Porcelain 30-Piece Dinnerware Place Setting, Service for 6

I wasn't sure if I would like this set, but glad I purchased them as the finish is very attractive. The different colors around the edges of each piece make it pop when you consider the whiteness of the design, etc. Each item is fairly light to pick up and because the set is made of porcelain, they dry very quickly after dish washing them! I got the set today and started using them immediately, so naturally, I gave them a first rinse to remove packaging dust, etc. The size of the cups are smaller than what I imagined, but as a Brit who drinks a lot of tea, I can make a cuppa just like Queeny does back home, complete with saucers :-) The only observation I would make on the negative side is one or two pieces have a tiny black speck on the surface. I'm hoping this won't annoy me too much, as I kept trying to "scratch it off", thinking the black marks were tiny particles stuck to the surface. This may be a manufacturing flaw, in which particles got through before each item was glazed. In any case, I know we live in an imperfect World and for what they cost me, I consider this a minor irritation I can live with. I would recommend this set, although I am a bit of a neat freak and worry what I would do if one of the pieces accidentally broke. It's not like I can pop down to the local store and buy the same replacement item. I only mention this because they are made from porcelain (which is more delicate than the inferior sets which are heavier and made from cheaper materials). Just make sure you take charge of their handling in and out of the dishwasher if you take pride in maintaining a full set without breakages or cracks! A great product, glad I purchased and could have done a lot worse for the money I paid. UPDATE: 1 September 2014. The set is still going strong and so far no breakages. I did find a similar set at IKEA for $30 (but without the cups and 6 'deep' cereal bowls instead of the shallow ones). What separates these from IKEA's brand is the paint around the rim and the quality feel. I still think I paid a good price and stick with my original review and rating.

I couldn't believe my luck when I unpacked these dishes. They are just what I've been looking for and under a hundred dollars. The cups remind you of a cafe in Milano on some visit you made years ago. If you are looking for something other than the made-in-China dinnerware that is usually available for this price then grab these. You will love every minute using them. They are packed especially well so no issues with broken dishes either. They are for daily use if you'd like yet fancy. Love 'em.

It is a nice every day set. The plates are not too big, about the right size for regular family meals. I wish the soup plates were a little deeper, but we like it overall.

We're really fond of these dishes. They're elegant enough to make plating and eating a treat but "fun" and unpretentious enough to use every day. I did notice that one of my cups (the orange one) is a little more oval than the others, but other than that I'm really glad I bought this set. If they had more pieces available, I'd pick them up too.

had them for a few weeks now and still really like them. Simple and the offer Italian presentation. How cute. The bowl is really wide and shallow. Almost impossible to use for cereal in the morning.

THESE LOOK BRIGHT WHITE, BUT UNFORTUNATLEY THEY ARE NOT! THEY ARE MORE OF A DULL WHITE WITH BOWLS THAT ARE TOO SHALLOW FOR LIQUIDS IN MY OPINION. HOWEVER, THEY ARE NICELY MADE AND DISHWASHER/ MICROWAVE SAFE. OVERALL, GOOD QUALITY AND VALUE!

These dishes are thinner than my last set. I can stack many more in my cabinet. Bowls are shallow though.

Better than expected! Nice everyday dishes. Lighter and more durable than stoneware and not as delicate as they appeared in the photos. Pairs nicely with fiestaware colors. Very well packaged. Everything arrived in good shape.
