## Overview

AD332B Fermaid O is a premium organic yeast nutrient designed to optimize fermentation by providing natural nitrogen and essential nutrients. It reduces heat spikes, promoting healthier yeast activity and cleaner flavor profiles. Ideal for precise dosing at 1.5 grams per gallon, this product replaces synthetic alternatives like DAP and Fermaid K, ensuring a more natural fermentation process with less off-flavors. Packaged in a moisture-sensitive 120g container, it requires careful storage to maintain peak performance.

## Description

Contains organic sources of nitrogen, not damp, along with nutrients for a healthy fermentation with less heat spikes. Better yeast health equals better flavors. Use 1.5G per gallon. Rehydrate in distilled water and add at 1/3 sugar depletion.

Review: DAP out the window - So, I'm a big fan of doing things as naturally as possible and jumped at the chance to buy a yeast nutrient that comes from an organic source. I've used this several times previously to buying this and there is at least a very small difference in flavour in some (not all) of my side by side brew tests that I've used this in. When I use Fermaid O, there is an apparent lack of sulphite smell/flavour compared to using DAP or Fermaid K even in primary fermentation. That, and the fact that I know it's a natural product will be enough to keep me buying it (though I hope to find a decent UK source in future). This replaces DAP, Fermaid K etc. TIP: get this out of the packet and into a jar with a silica gel pack in it as Fermaid O has an insane affinity for moisture and becomes very sticky, very quickly!
Review: Works as it should

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there an expiration date? Is it good for more than 2018? And does it require refrigeration, or just cool dark? Thx**
A: Generally, we would recommend using the product within 12 months after opening. Refrigeration would be best, but is not required for storage.

**Q: What is the difference between A & B?**
A: AD332A has 12 grams of product while AD332B has 120 grams.

**Q: Do you add an additional 1.5 grams at 1/3 depletion? Or are you splitting the 1.5 grams? Also do you add it immediately?**
A: There are two schools of thought on this:
1. add at 24 hrs/48 hrs/72 hrs. Less specific than:
2. add at yeast pitch/25% depletion/33.3% depletion.
YMMV

**Q: Fermaid o is manufactured by lallemand, but this listing shows the manufacturer as "cellularscience". who is cellularscience? is this genuine?**
A: I believe that Lallemand's smallest package size is 2.5kg. Cellularscience repackages the several products into smaller retail size packages.

Works as it should

Fermaid O is supremely helpful if you brew stuff that isn't nutrient rich for yeast; I brew meads without much else in the recipe so the rather hostile atmosphere can cause a more stressed out yeast. Fermaid O improves the quality of my brew, and the value of that for the money is enough that I won't go without it. Pros: -The standard for organic yeast nutrition -Preferred over inorganic yeast nutrition -I feel it improves the taste and smell of what I ferment Cons: -People get riled up over using it or not Happy yeast make happy ferments; I keep my yeast happy by using Fermaid O.
