I am a larger male, 6'2" 245lbs and the seat fits like it should. Resistance is decent but not overly strong like you would see on high end rowers. All in all I couldn't be happier with the product. I have been using this one for several weeks and no problems. Just a side note: I have the Proform treadmill as well. Love it too. No its not your high end exercise equipment like you get a gym but neither is the price. Make sure you always shoot for middle grade to high end grade on companies like Proform and you should be happy with what you get. Review: Buy the Extended Warranty - I know there are a lot of negative reviews of this rower but I didn't have any problems with the packaging or with the rower itself. However, be aware that there are many pieces to put together and you have to be very careful with alignment. This is basically a giant bungee cord and if it's not aligned properly it probably will uncoil. I'm very careful when using it to make sure that I keep the cord centered. This rower only has a 3 month warranty and because of the negative reviews I bought the extended warranty. I have a ProForm treadmill as well. The ProForm products are a good value but you're not going to get the top of the line in exercise equipment with the ProForms - you get what you pay for. If you're not rough with the ProForms they will last but they are not what you'd find in a gym. For me however they are good enough and a good value. Customer service took almost a month to get hold of after the bungee cord broke.
