After trying Benadryl to help my geriatric dog sleep, which didn't work, my vet told me about melatonin for dogs. Who'd have think it? It totally works. We just put a couple of drops on her dinner and she sleeps through the night.

I’m not sure why reviews are all over the place here, I can only assume that like people, some Meds work for some and not for others. I have a blind/deaf senior rescue. Once or twice a month he has what is almost a manic period where he just paces in his gated room all night. Occassionally he gets stuck somewhere and calls out for me and it’s just up, down, up, down all night long. I make sure everything is clean, dry, plenty of water, I rub him all over in case he’s itchy and everything else I can think of but the pacing continues. He’s so “manic” he runs into walls, falls down, then does it all over again. THIS WORKS. Settles him right down and sleeps thru the night. Ironically as a human, I cannot take Melatonin. Even though it’s safe, it causes major bathroom issues, I won’t go near it for myself. I guess the only way to know if it will help your furball is to try it. I give it at night, right before dinner. This plus a full belly is the perfect combo for my little guy.

I bought this for my dog who is about 6 years old. He started pacing through the night, which kept us up. We moved him and his crate to a spare bedroom and started giving him the recommended dosage per instructions on the box. I think* he has actually slept, he is more calm come bed time and is not pacing as much. He is very drowsy in the morning and seems to be getting really deep sleep. Of course these are just observations. The only one who knows if it’s working or not is my dog and he can’t tell me anything.

We have a 17yo Bugg (Boston Terrier/Pug), who is having some cognitive and neurological issues. She was not sleeping well, which means my husband and I (and our other pups) were not sleeping well… we were at the end of our rope, convinced that it may be time to put her down - we just couldn’t get her comfortable and didn’t want her to suffer. After a discussion with her vet, we started her on this melatonin (she’s 11lbs and takes other meds, so just 1mg) along with a small dose of Senilife - together they have worked wonders!!

After trying several products, I thought I would give this product a try to help my aging cockapoo relax at night. I gave my dog the recommended dosage and on subsequent evenings even increased the dosage slightly. He did not relax or sleep after trying this product over several evenings. This product does not work and should not be administered to your dog. The price is extremely high, and I feel ripped off. Apparently, the company will not allow returns. Highly disappointed.

My beautiful 13 1/2 year old long haired male dachshund was suffering from Cushing’s disease. His vet said that melatonin might help control some of his symptoms. Initially she recommended the capsules that humans use but as he progressed it became more difficult getting him to digest pills. I ran across this liquid melatonin and thought I would give it a try. It was much easier to dispense and I noticed less tremors. He took these drops right up to the end. My only complaint is the plastic bottle that it is packaged in. Typically holistic and organic liquid supplements are packaged in brown or blue dark glass containers as plastic can leach negative chemicals into the supplement. The quality of the liquid melatonin helped my boy much more than the capsules but I would have preferred it be packaged appropriately, therefore the 3 star review. Upon receipt I would transfer the product into a brown glass bottle with a glass dropper. If packaged properly this would be a 5 star review.

This is a really great sleep aid for dogs. My dogs get between 6-8 hours a night, otherwise they would be up too early. I highly recommend this product , I have been using it for years.
