I have used several Master Lock combination locks for my gym locker over the years. It took a little time to set the combination to unlock. With my eyesight not as good as before, sometimes, for example, I mistook a number 6 for 8, and it took me, in my opinion, too much time for a repetitive daily chore. When I found out about the biometric padlock, it occurred to me that I could finally catch up with the technology just like the way that I have been unlocking my iPhone screen. First I ordered and tried a lock that is about $20 less than this one. The programming lacks feedback and consistency so the lock either remains in the initial state when it unlocks with any fingerprint or in the zombie state when it refuses to unlock with any fingerprint and I had to use an USB charger to unlock.But this lock has worked faultlessly from the beginning. With its smartphone app, it is easier to program with validated feedback. After several fingerprints programmed, I can have my senior moment and still get access to my locker effortlessly after my workout. The only caveat is that, with my fingers wet and wrinkled coming from the pool or the hot tub, sometimes it takes more than 1 try to unlock. A larger fingerprint from my thumb is more reliable under that situation.The lock is not heavy duty and can probably be easily cut with a strong shear metal cutter, but it serves its purpose for me perfectly and reliably in the last few weeks. One fewer thing to remember. Convenient and secure. Highly recommended.

This is a sturdy lock, which is the most important thing about it! It seems have the strength of the kind of padlock you would use on a locker, so it is not super heavy duty, but it should hold up well. The programming is a little unclear in the instructions, but i did get it working after a few tries. The key steps seem to be correctly stated, but the light doesnt do exactly as expected. So, for your first time, hold your finger for three seconds, then release. Pause to see that the light has changed, then press ten times to capture your fingerprint. The light seems to be green before you touch, and blue when it is ready for the next touch. After ten touches, if it worked, then the beep from the lock should be longer than the little chirps you’ve been hearing so far, with a longer green light. That’s it! Now it pops open with a touch! It really is very cool to use. Based on the biometric button on my phone, i advise drying your finger and the button before trying to unlock it, so that it works right away. One more thing i will try eventually is to set an additional fingerprint after swimming. I want to be sure that i can still open it when my fingerprints are all wrinkles and prune-y!

Your finger has to be just right to unlock. Even though it records your print 10 times, I have to try several times to get it to open. If the lock is cold, even in the house, or your fingers are cold, you have to warm it up first before the lock will recognize anything.

I bought the 2 pack because it always seems like I'll forget my padlock. Still works fine after a week so far.The security of this lock is absolutely non existent... hold your finger on the sensor for 10 seconds to clear all finger prints and save your new one. That said, I actually use it for work. It works fine.Went through snow and rain with no failures. Just gotta make sure to use the same spot on your finger or thumb that you set it up with. Might get several red error beeps til you become familiar with the exact finger placement.

I am leaving a 2 star review in hope that the seller contacts me. If not I will change my review to 1 star and start a return.I purchased two of the 2 packs of locks. I charged them fully before doing anything with them. I then set the finger prints I wanted. One of the locks is dead. After 3 days. Had to run a USB to it to unlock it. Figured maybe it's just a fluke and maybe everything is fine. Nope dead in less than 24 hours. I really don't want to start a return for 2 locks when one of the 2 pack is still working.

It worked well and the idea is brilliant. However, I used it once as a gym locker and will have to return it. After taking a shower, my fingerprint is apparently different and it took me about 5 minutes and countless tries to open it.

Must charge it weekly! Battery died while at work. Luckily a co worker had a portable charger with him and there was no need for me to break the lock

it does not work very well, there are few times that it reads well the fingerprint, the majority does not read them well
