Q: Bought the 16v 30va transformer, now how do I find a 16v 30va doorbell? Electrician says anything smaller will be fried by the transformer.

Just buy a 16v doorbell. Amazon sells them. The 30va is amount of power it can deliver. Doorbell will only draw the power it needs. 30va can power multiple doorbells or just one. I got this 30va model to power existing doorbell and a Ring video doorbell unit. Get a new electrician.

Q: Is this fine for a standard door bell not a video bell?

It depends on your door bell, but most likely. Older doorbells require around 8 to 20 volts and newer doorbells require 8 to 24 volts. This 16V transformer is in the sweet spot where most doorbells would probably work. It swaps in easily if you are just removing an older broken transformer.

Q: My indoor mechanical Chime is says 10-16 volts ac. Will this transformer be too much power and safe to install?
