Diesel Performance Handbook for Pickups and SUVs (Motorbooks Workshop)

This book is so full of incorrect information I don't see how it ever became published. It really amazes me. I took a few photos of the mistakes I found (see customer photos). I'm going to leave it to you to make your own judgment about it. I was hoping this book would have useful information as how to build a high a performance diesel engine. It has none. I hope I can get my money back out of it.

Not much help for product recommendation

This manual is very important to me and my work because it is make my job to easy and fast

Im an avid car enthusiast and an ASE certed service tech. With that being said this book "MIGHT" be ok for someone that is a novice in this particular field, its quite basic. Pretty much for someone that never took an automotive class or read any enthusiast forum in their life. It almost like they took a general automotive shop text book and just ripped off the information for some of the chapters.Some of the information is interesting but not much in the arena of performance or maintenance. I did not want a history book, I wanted some experienced information from someone deeper in the industry then I. The transmission section about input shafts (choosing the right kind/brand ect) was particularly weak, from the book itself... "Look on the internet or find a local high performance transmission builder to select the right one for your vehicle." Wow, thanks for the information. If I did that I would not need this snooze fest of a book. Pass.Thank god I rented this book from my local library, I would not suggest paying for this book at all.

I bought this book from a book store. Not here. But I just wanted to say that this book is worthless. There are barely any references to performance in this book at all. For example. The heart of a Diesel is its turbo. And the turbo chapter in this book could have been EXTREMELY more informative. In fact it was just about useless. If you know absolutely nothing, zilch, about a diesel, this book may help you. But if you understand that a diesel is compression ignition engine, and actually knows what that means, spend your money elsewhere.

Doesn't provide much detail on actually tuning diesel engines. More of plug and play on USA engines not found in Europe
