I had been using them a few years ago and after about 2 weeks of usage, I started feeling excruciating pain in my ear when I removed them in the morning. Almost as if they were sucking out my eardrum as I removed them. I always assumed that the closed-cell outer structure along with the high-density foam and air-tight seal effectively produced a vacuum in my ear canal as I pulled them out. The strange thing was that I never saw any similar complaints from anyone anywhere. I do not have any latex allergies and in fact had switched to using a pharmacy store brand that was also latex, but was not as dense. No problem with those except they were not snore-proof. I am now hoping that the problem I had a few years ago was due to the fact that I swam just about every day and perhaps the water had something to do with the problem. So I am trying them one more time in the hopes that I can once again be able to sleep through the night without interruption from background noise.
