8297 HighHeat 500 Degree Epoxy Putty Stick - 2 oz. , Grey

This stuff is great! I just used it to patch a cracked exhaust on our Toyota Corolla. I was about to invest 300 and parts plus an hour or two in labor. But when I inspected the exhaust closely from the Cadillac converter all the way back to the muffler. I noticed almost everything was in pretty good shape other than the one spot where there was a hairline fracture. Right after the joint, headed towards the muffler. On a whim, I decided to check on here to see what they had for muffler repair because I hadn’t been pleased with the local advanced auto had on the shelves. I found this and the JB weld muffler repair. I bought both, but I ended up going with this because I thought for my particular situation this would be the best. I’m glad I did. It was really easy to use. I prepped the area by wire brushing around the crack. And then using a rag with isopropyl alcohol to clean before applying. Wasn’t sure how much to use, but I put on a pair of latex gloves and cut approximately half the product to use. I mixed it with my hands while wearing the gloves until it was a uniform color and then I applied it to the crack all the way around the muffler. It was easy to apply and mold into the shape I wanted. It was only like 40° outside, so I propped up a heat gun from a distance and let that hit it for about an hour. After that, I didn’t start the car until the next morning but when I did, it sounded perfect again! So far I’m really happy. I haven’t driven the car much yet so I will keep the review updated. But so far I’m very pleased and hopeful based on other reviews. In my case, I would rate this an incredible value for the money!

I have this on-hand in case my old beater muffler gets a hole in it. It cures quick. I haven't used this batch yet but I know it works already. I've used JB Weld before. It's tough. This one is high temp and good for many uses. It's easy to use, just knead the two parts together and use it like putty. Clean the surface well and if suitable, sand the area lightly and you will get good adhesion. Make sure you clean the area with some brake cleaner or something like that to remove all oils. If you keep adhesives refrigerated you can extend the storage life dramatically

Hate to say it but I used this to hold my transmission fluid plug in after it stripped LOL. Has held up for 6 months so far and no issues. Wish me luck!

One of the feet on our electric skillet broke off. I first tried regular epoxy to reattach it; that quickly failed due to the heat. For a long time after that we propped the corner of the skillet up with a piece of wood--pretty crude and sub-optimal. I was about to give up and buy a new skillet when I found this product. It was easy to work with, and I used it to attach a small piece of angled steel in place of the missing leg. Works fine--so far it is standing up to the heat just fine, and the adhesion is good too. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the way it's packaged. There's one single cylinder of product, with the resin on the outside and the hardener occupying the center of the cylinder. You cut off a piece and knead it to mix the hardener in with the resin. What this means is that the hardener is not completely separated from the resin inside that cylinder of product. In my experience with similar epoxy putties, over time the whole thing hardens up and you have to throw it away. I'd prefer to have to separate sticks of material that don't touch each other until I'm ready to use them. Don't let this stop you, though, this is nice stuff.

This works! Amazing stuff that is easy to use if you follow the directions for preparing the surface! No more noisy muffler!

I'm a fan of JB Weld, and maybe I was asking too much of this product, but I was still disappointed. I used this to mate an exhaust together using a sleeve over both sides, so the JB Weld really only needed to hold the sleeve in place.. but it cracked and broke. It did dry up pretty quickly, and was very hard. Maybe a bit too hard, as the crack may have been from a shock while it was warm that it just didn't like. This was right at the end of the tailpipe and the beginning of the muffler, so not at the manifold, past the resonator, so it certainly gets hot, but not outside of the range that this product claims to be good for. I just don't think it was the right application for this product, though it sorta seemed like an ideal use for it. I had better luck with those wet-n-wrap epoxy cloth kits in this specific scenario. I specifically made an effort to keep the stress on the area as low as possible by using a coupling pipe between the two, but the JB Weld High Heat just wasn't up to the task. At least it wasn't a goopy nasty mess like the resin cloth stuff.. that stuff was nasty to work with. This stuff was much neater and cleaner, but for this use case, just couldn't do the job. I still love ya, JB Weld, but this one was a little underwhelming.

Absolutely love this product I use it for multiple things. It is easy to mix and washes right off your hands but dries super solid and works for a ton of home and auto projects.

Worked as expected

Seems to be a fantastic product! I bought this after my car developed quite a serious coolant leak from a metal pipe part of the engine. Wanted to use it as emergency fix really, however it turned out so good that it has become permanent fix until I have the will and time to take the car to the garage. I have filled the instructions to the letter and left it dry for 12 hours, just in case... I waited with this review for nearly two weeks to see the actual performance of the product... It hardened to a rock hard substrate and sealed the hole completely and reliably. Absolute bargain as well! I've put some before and after pictures. Can't recommend this enough!
