I had originally been using the standard paste that is complimentary with Intel processors and it had been on there for around 2 years. I stressed my CPU and compared the CPU temp before and after applying this new thermal paste and I was pleasantly surprised by the comparison.The Arctic MX-4 thermal paste came in secure, good quality packaging so from the moment I opened my amazon package I knew i had high quality equipment. It has a durability of 8 years which I obviously can't test as of now however judging by the quality of heat reduction of my CPU I wouldn't be in the slightest surprised if it did last all 8 years. Inside the plastic packaging is the syringe filled with the paste, a very small amount was needed so this one syringe could probably be used to replace the paste of multiple CPU units or computers. It has a little cap on the end to prevent the paste from drying out or becoming damaged.As I mentioned before i compared my old paste with this new higher quality one. Using the program AIDA64 I stressed my CPU to its limits to check what temperature it would stabilize at. Baring in mind this is with a standard edition Intel cooling fan, the new paste instantly capped the CPU at around 68 degrees Celsius where originally, with the Intel thermal paste, it was capping at around 72 degrees. Considering this is only the paste I have changed, and not the actual cooling fan or mechanism, I would say it has done a very good job of preventing the CPU from heating up and keeping it at a nice temperature where it isn't too cold so that your PC is slow but it also isn't overheating to a point where it damages your CPU.Overall I would highly recommend this thermal compound paste if you are considering replacing your current thermal paste. I was very happy with it's performance and at a reasonable price as well. Money well spent! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars I have to believe the packaging. *by J***H on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 May 2019* I've never changed a motherboard before, I have no special knowledge and unless you happened to be a computer engineer with loads of experience of different types of thermal compound I've no idea how you could rate this properly? the stuff came out of the tube, it spread easily over the cpu chip there are thorough instructions on their web site, and they kindly put a 'Q' code on the packet to link you directly to the right place, with a very handy video covering what I needed to know. I deliberately didn't choose the cheapest product (they might be brilliant, I've no idea) but you pay your price and take your chance I hoped to be buying a better product based on price and the amount of help they provide. I'm talking 2 x 1080 GPU, plus a fast I7 to boot.Often I explain to people that, yes, you have the components but you also need a thermal paste that can keep those temperatures down, pay less and they soon burn out.Thermal paste is used to create a thermal bridge between a chip such as a CPU or GPU and the heat sink or cooling fan, ensuring as much heat can be dissipated from the chip as quickly as possible.The packaging is really snazzy and shows a real quality of product, gone are the cheap bags or damaged card boxes and in with the sleek and informative zip bag. You also have a spatula but refer to the manufacturer web for the best way to apply paste for your product.The application is easy. Firstly, you MUST wipe off any old thermal paste from the heat sink and chip that you wish to apply this too. I generally use the arcti clean set which ensures surfaces are both clean and prepared.Once clean, apply as per manufacturer instructions Tighten in a cross motion, that is, tighten screws as opposite pairs so that the load is even across the heat sink. Doing this will help spread the line of thermal paste in an even manner. Many people think you need to cover the chip entirely, you do not, don't forget, the heat sink is in contact with the chip anyway and the paste only serves as a very fine bridge between the two.I applied this to my PC CPU and have noticed a considerable drop in temperature and also the fans have decided that they can throttle down as well.The value for money with this product is comparable to other market brands, but I am happy as I can see the difference in temperature and the noise from fans has gone as well.If you are looking for a thermal paste, buy this, you will not be disappointed.
