My First Book of Tagalog Words: An ABC Rhyming Book of Filipino Language and Culture (My First Words)

Great resource especially for my kids who were born abroad. We wanted a book which had the basic Tagalog words.

I bought this to help my new Filipino student feel more at home in the U.S. He loved it and loved sharing about his culture using the words, pictures and rhymes. He even borrowed it to share with his class. He is currently in 4th grade.

This is a super cute book, the only thing I would add is adding how to pronounce the words correctly so that as I'm reading it to my baby I'm also saying the words correctly as I am not Filipino but my child is.

Purchased for my son, he’s 1/2 Filipino. He loves this book! What I like is it goes through the alphabet. It’s hard not to read this and sound like you speak Tagalog because of how it’s written, again my son loves it.This book is LONG, just keep that in mind. Other than that it’s great!

It’s fun. I like the rhymes. Provides good context with other related items or history. And even context for words that are the same with English

A gift for my infant nephew in the hopes he will learn a few relevant words in his grandparents’ language. He’s only 5 months but loved the pictures and listened intently.

My niece is 18 months and she loves it. We are trying to teach her more about our culture and to be able to speak the language.

My 3.5 year old son loves this book! He picked up new words just after reading this book to him a few times. And he would ask me to reinforce the words in this book throughout the day, by asking what does "so and so" word mean. The book is colorful, creative and it's helping my son build some new Tagalog vocabulary.

I love the illustration and quality of this book. Like others have said, the choice of words for some letters could have been better but overall it was a great purchase. Can’t wait for my son to learn about his culture!

Yes !... along with other increasingly complicated books, I am beginning to memorise Tagalog words and understand a challenging language. I enjoy the bold print and the illustrations in the book.When my Filipino branch of our family come I know my grandsons will love this book. Thank you for this lovely edition!

I bought the book for my kids as Tagalog is my mother tongue. Fun pictures but selection of Example Tagalog words could be better.
