Safari makes nice toys. This is an excellent representation of a coelacanth! A good scale to accompany larger action figues.

I got this as a gift for a family member. It really looks like a Coelacanth; there's no mistaking it for any other kind of fish. It's made from hard, good quality plastic. There is a lot of detail molded into the plastic (scales of different sizes, fin details, eyes, tiny teeth painted white). It's a dark blue color with some lighter blue highlights and white spots. Although preserved specimens in museums look brown or green, if you look on Google images at photos of Coelacanths taken under water, they look just like this model. A great gift for all nature lovers, especially those interested in endangered species, and fish fanciers!

I bought this for my collection, and since I have no room to display anymore I usually stash the stuff away. Well I like this one so much it's sitting out on my printer with tow other nice ones. It has great detail,and likely could pass for a real fish in a tank. The paint is good also.

Da ich mich sehr mit den Quastenflossern beschäftigte lag es nahe mir zur gesamten Buchsammlung noch etwas optisches hinzustellen Nun ist aber aber das offizielle Quastenflosser - Modell auf der Museumsseite vergriffen und ich bestellte dieses mal wegen seinens günstigen Preises als "Zwischenlösung" Die Bestellung im Museum wird nicht mehr nötig sein - die Exaktheit und der Detailreichtum verblüfften mich - ich denke das dieses Modell identisch ist mit dem auf der Museumsseite nicht mehr verfügbaren, denn auch die Abmessung und Form stimmen überein..in der Vorschau ist das alles auch gut erkennbar.. Die Farbe ist etwas blasser und ins graue gehend als auf dem Bild gezeigt - hier aber das blau ist noch gut wahrnehmbar für Insider - es handelt sich somit um Latimeria Chalumnae - der auf den Komoren und Sondwana Bay heimische Qustenflosserstamm Der Quastenflosser ist als Ansichtsmodell eine echte Augenweide - als normales Kinderspielzeug sehe ich das eher nicht an (interessierte Kids natürlich ausdrücklich ausgeschlossen, die dürften beim Erhalt dann aber durchdrehen!) Als Sammlerstück für alle die sich für lebende Fossilien interessieren ist dieses geradezu ein "must have" und stabil ist das dazu auch noch.. Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung
