True comfort.
This blanket is excellent and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I slept in a full hour and 10 minutes past normally when I get up because I was so comfortable. This is what real wool feels like. It don’t be baby soft like a blanket that mixes synthetic fibers in but it’s still soft as far as wool goes. It feels like it has some heft to it but it’s not heavy or cumbersome. The biggest advantage is warmth. When you crawl into bed rather than waiting for your body heat to warm up cold bedding you almost instantly feel warm. It stays warm like an electric blanket but it’s never overly warm. It still breathes which is an advantage for wool as it essentially self regulates body temp. This is a well made blanket. I had no issues at all with the smell. You can detect lanolin but it’s slight. The king size blanket is true to its size and worth every penny. I’ve already put away 2 comforters I’ll never use again because of this blanket. My one caution would be the gray and white is much more like a brown and white. My entire bedding, walls, and curtains are gray and my carpet is brown. It matches my carpet. It’s still a 5 star blanket. Just don’t expect it to be actually gray.

This is the Real Deal.
I don't write many reviews, but want to give big kudos to the designer and producers of this blanket. I raise sheep for their wool and sell raw wool to hand spinners, so I'm able to judge quality. I don't, however, have the skills to make my own blanket, and have wanted one for a long time. I've looked and looked, and just happened on this on Amazon. In today's world of factory products, it is a real treat to find something this well-made for this reasonable. It is not fluffy soft like artificial fibers can be, but it is real wool, carefully produced and handled, to make a product that will last multiple lifetimes and do it's job well. Yes, there is a lanolin smell, that's natural! It protects the wool, on the sheep, or on the human. Think fisherman sweaters of old, those were left with all the considerable lanolin of the Shetland sheep breed, and were waterproof. These blankets don't have that much, I think alpaca don't have much and Merino sheep not very much for a sheep breed. Plus it's been washed, obviously, but with a product that leaves some of the lanolin in. This is a good thing for longevity of the product. The sheep-y smell is faint, but it's there, it came from real animals, not petroleum products. It dissipates within a couple of days once it's out of the package. There was even a little bit (very little) of what we call Vegetable Matter which just means tiny bits of hay or other plant material. It's easy to pick out, just do it gently or leave it in. It's another indicator of a real, natural product with many natural benefits. If you want this for camping, it could be a lifesaver, literally. It will insulate if it gets wet. For the home, it's very nice. The binding is soft and a nice finishing touch. The natural colors are beautiful, the thickness is perfect. I've slept so comfortably the week I've had it. It's not too warm for a heated home, it's just right. I"m getting old and I get cold, but haven't had to use the heating pad at all. It is a wonderful gift for anyone, or just a comfort gift for oneself. Kudos to both the seller and to Amazon for making such a fine product widely available.

Heavy and Warm
I love the warmth and thickness. When I first unpacked from the sealed plastic bag, there was a slight fragrance. An hour later, there was no smell or odor. As for warmth, perfect. For sleeping, my room is cool, but I need the warmth of a blanket. I used to have an army green blanket, but it was thin, and I needed two for warmth. They were too thin and scratchy. They itched. The wool is soft and does not feel rough. This blanket is thick as three or four army style blankets. It's worth every dollar. Buy and enjoy the comfort.

Woah!! LEGITLY IM IMLRESSED!
ABSOLUTELY A TREASURE! I dont usually review but this blanket is worthy of the title Heavenly× I even bought a used one and whoever returned it did not know about wool or its unique qualities. The blemishes wernt blemishes, they were woven ends of the yarn, then felted VERY well. Spots are spots. ITS SOOOOOO WARM!! Sooo beautiful. Almost no lanolin smell. I DID air it out after unpacking for a few hrs on a line as is customary. Slept in it that night with my best night in forever. *gratefull!! This is heirloom quality and now a definate favorite! TY For a legit Merino Wool blanket thats quality is very aparent to those who have experiance in wool. Its my new go to and packable everything blanket! ;)

Soft and warm! Not itchy!
This blanket has a very nice color scheme. The quality of the blanket is very nice it's nice and heavy and the king size version I bought is amazing!Unlike some of the cheaper ones it doesn't shed or make you itchy. The wool/alpaca blend is very soft.
