I've been an 'optic snob' for years when it comes to rifle scopes; but, just recently realized the difference a good set of binoculars can make. It was actually a set of Leica binoculars that opened my eyes to the world of high-end binoculars - so I originally looked at their 10x42 rangefinder binoculars instead of these. After spending several months waffling back and forth - I finally took the plunge and picked up these Swarovski binoculars instead. I'm sure I would have loved the Leica binoculars as well, but I can say for sure that I love these! After spending a couple of weekends in the field with these, here are the things I like: 1) The optic quality is excellent! We were able to pick out details in dark conditions - long before my other binoculars became usable. Any hunter can tell you how critical it is in many cases to be able to clearly see details - especially in low light. 2) The rangefinder works quickly, and is accurate. I love not having to carry binoculars and a rangefinder separately! (So far, I've only used it in a wooded area, so I've only used out to about 500 yards.) 3) I'm used to being able to calibrate the focus of binoculars so they match my eyes - but these take it to a whole new level. There's actually a built-in program that makes it easy to get a perfect focus to help prevent eye strain and improve clarity. 4) There is nothing complicated about these. The rangefinder works with the press of a single button - and the focus is precise and simple. 5) Even the neck strap and eye covers are well thought out (unlike most other binoculars I've owned). There's even a place to stash away the spare battery that came with them! 6) It might seem odd to list the price as a 'pro', I think these are an absolute bargain when compared to the cost of other high-end binoculars - especially when the excellent rangefinder is factored into the price. Although I absolutely love these, I will mention that the rangefinder is slightly visible in the viewfinder - and it's pretty obvious in some light. I don't want to overstate that, but keep in mind that it is there. Fortunately, it only uses a small portion of the left eye so it isn't distracting. Another thing to keep in mind is that, even though the maximum range is impressive, the minimum range is pretty far @ 33 yards. If you're a bow hunter, that could possibly rule these out. At the end of the day, if you're looking for a pair of binoculars with an included rangefinder, I think this is the absolute best you can get.

I purchased mine off Amazon back in April of 2013. I am a wildlife photographer so use mine almost daily. I must say I have seen more game than ever before when glassing wooded areas and even in low light. I have used many different brands over the years and none even come close to these in performance or clarity. Yes, they are expensive but you pay for what you get. I find the laser range finder to work well and seems to be very accurate. Swarovski customer care has also been extremely helpful. The rubber piece on the eye cups I have lost twice and both times when contacting Swarovski, they have replaced not only the rubber eye piece but the whole cup. I also own the spotting scope and it is an amazing piece of glass. I have bought the adapter to use it with Nikon cameras and have found it also to perform very well. After using Swarovski I don’t think I could go back to any of the other brands without being disappointed. Every one that looks through the glass is amazed with its clarity.

This product supersedes all other optics that I have owned, the quality of this product is why I purchased them. I'm sure these will last a lifetime, a lifetime of great viewing .

I purchased the 10x42 Swarovski EL Range binocs and used them for the first time on an elk/deer trip to Utah. Since I already own Leica 10x42 range binocs, I was curious to see how they compared. The ergonomics of the EL's are much better; well balanced and very comfortable to use. The rangefinder and slope worked flawlessly. Clarity and field of view were great. What I was not prepared for was the spectacular low light gatherng/vision; simply amazing. It seems brighter than the actual ambient which doesn't seem possible. Great binocs!
