Nice quality, in my opinion. Easy to use and fairly sharp on arrival.

This is the first time buying Owden tools. It was sharp right out of the box. I tried it without any stropping, and was very impressed.I am a beginner/ hobbyist in leather crafting, so I dont have an excessive budget for tools & materials. That said, im typically dissapointed with the standard cheap tools sold at Michaels and other craft stores. So i took a leap of faith, and spent a little more in hopes for the quality I was in need of, and now I wont shop any where els.Its a good sturdy tool. Makes a clean thick skive. I can justify spending a little more on certain tools, and this is one I will get alot of use from.Also, from what I read, they have a money back guarantee, so I can't see any risk in trying it out.

Owden tools are quality tools and I use them frequently. While the edger is relatively sharp out of the box it does need some honing and stropping work.It is very comfortable handling and works extremely well.

First of all my experience with cheap tools for leather work was as you could expect! THEY HARDLY EVER WORK!!!So i was somewhat skeptical about buying a Chinese tool.This tool is solidly made and sharp as can be out of the box!!! Stropped it a little like i do with all my tools. It was worth ever cent!

I have to sharpen the tool several times per project. It cuts well when it's sharp, but definitely adds some extra work to keep it cutting well. The price is good for what you get, but I'll need to upgrade to something better. It feels like wasted money when I could've bought something better to begin with.

Right out of the package, this edger (skiver) had no problem going through and of the leathers I threw at it. After I did SomaTone sharpening and stropping, I got it to a mirror polish and it can cut. Seems to hold the edge well too. I expect a little stropping now an again should keep it doing it’s job. Nice and comfortable handle too. I’d put this up against son of the ones I’ve used in the $50 - 80 range.

Needed a smaller skiver, didn't want to pay a ton as I don't do much skiving in my work generally. Works well and the hand feel is good. Keep it sharpened and should do the job just fine.

Easy to sharpen, stays sharp for a reasonable period of time.

Sharp out of the box, needed a bit of stropping, works perfectly as it should.

The overall quality is good. The handle is beautiful and the ferrule is quality brass. However, the blade edge is not straight so I will have to work on it to get it true. Still works quite well and sharp out of the box. I very much like this brand and many of my tools are Owden tools. I love them.

This was purchased for my husband for his leather craft work. He likes quality, feel and and it works well.
