Dr. Kervran's formula for soluble/colloidal silica has been a part of Alta's fine line of health products since our beginning in 1972. Our Silica is an extract from the horsetail herb. Silica is naturally occurring in horsetail, it is bound to the natural, organic chemicals in the horsetail plant (bioflavonoids) and remains bound throughout the extraction process. By allowing our Silica supplement to naturally retain its bioflavonoids (which are part of the vitamin C complex) we are providing a more nutritious product without synthetic additives. Inorganic silica is basically just powdered quartz and very difficult for the body to absorb.
