I was using a Philips QT4011 trimmer for more than two years. It once died on me within warranty and I got a free repair (or replacement, not sure). Then the trimmer blades started slipping at the point where the motor shat mates the blade rotating mechanism. It continued to work but I had to fix it every time I trimmed. I'm a Panasonic fan boy, I admit. And even before the Philips started giving problems, I wanted to buy it. I have bought their TV, Fridge, AC, and even the batteries! I actually wanted to buy the GB40 but it never came on sale and as is it was 3X of the Philips. I got the Gb37 after reading lots of reviews on Amazon as well as other sites. People went on to talk about how a Panasonic trimmer is a Mercedes in front of others being Marutis. I haven't been disappointed. Having said that the Mercedes and Maruti comparison is not correct. If Philips QT4011 is Dzire, consider the Panasonic GB37 a VW Vento. Make no mistake, VW Vento is a car in different league! Coming back to both trimmer's specifics: - Dry and wet trimming. No worrying about it not touching water. Just wash it under the tap! Don't under-estimate this. I lost the first QT4011 probably because of this. Bathrooms are wet places and there can be accidents. - Evenly and clean trimming. No hair pulling, nothing. Even if you trim without the attachment. Philips was very close to GB37's performance. In fact I felt QT4011's shortest length was pretty good. It was not zero, nor was it as long as Panasonic's shortest. You can remove the attachment on the Gb37 and it goes almost zero but that is shorter than Philips' shortest. Not a big deal either way though. - Excellent build quality and overall touch n feel of it. Lovely size and weight gives pleasure in holding it. Philips felt a little smaller and lighter. (my hands are not big but i still feel, Panasonic has better size). The only place the GB37 seems poor quality is the attachment. It's a but flimsy and every time I attach it, I feel I will break it. Philips' red attachment was superior. - GB37 has a requirement that one is supposed to oil the blades before and after trimming. Honestly, barring a couple of times, I haven't done it at all. And it seems to be doing alright for last seven months of usage. Maybe it's because I don't wash it. The Philips one has no such requirement. - Panasonic holds the charge well. A single charge should get 7-8 trims at least. I trim once a week and in last seven months, I would have charged it 3-4 times max. Philips was no different here. Panasonic could be slightly better. - You can use both of these while getting charged (plugged in) or without the chord when fully charged, of course. To me, if I were out there to buy again, I would probably take the GB37 over QT4011. However, the caveat here is that I would not pay more than 25-30% premium for the Panasonic. If it turns out to be more expensive, I will take the Philips. They both are great, GB37 is slightly better. Update 21 Sep 2018 --------------------------------- My frequency of usage is once in a week. I used the Panasonic GB37 last Saturday and kept it back safe. Pulled it out Friday morning and it was dead. Put it on charging for the entire day assuming it could be battery issue but it's just dead. Going to contact the service centre. Update 11 Oct 2018 -------------------------------- Finally got time to call up Panasonic customer care today. Prompt help was offered in terms of the contact no of the manager lady at their Sanpada (Navi Mumbai) service centre. Called her up and she said that they don't cater to Trimmers and I will have to go to Dadar. Called up the customer care again and they apologized and said they are not updated by the authorities about this change. I asked for an alternate no and they redirected me to Panvel. They had offered Mumbai alternatives but they are all are relatively far. Called up Panvel service centre and this gentleman said that they don't service Trimmers either. He said he can take the device and send it to Thane or I can do it myself, since it would be faster. He also suggested that the Sanpada service centre should be able to take it and send to save me time. Couldn't call Sanpada again. So, here we are. They don't have a service centre for Trimmers in entire Navi Mumbai. Just to remind myself, Philips has one at Vashi.

Most trusted product in trimmers. Long life, works perfectly. Precise in cutting.

1) cannot be used while charging ( due to the stand like charger) So not useful for last moment trims Should remember to charge it always 2) battery life doesn't last long as mentioned ( lasted less than my old Panasonic trimmer) 3) very long charging time (12 hrs - lasts 30mins)
