You get allot of stuff in this kit, and its value beats buying it all separately, plus it comes with a scale. The cook book is excellent and informative! I recommend to anyone seriously considering learning modernist cooking this kit. If you're someone who is on the know, this kits perfect for you!

Worth every penny

Arrived on time. Great and diverse kit to start out with.

It came so neatly packaged and looks so fun. Excited to try it out All of them described items (gelatin is porcine)

Great kit, however it does come with a slight learning curve. The included book is helpful, however, the pictures are in black and white and not every chemical is covered. It does not explain every single included chemical in depth which led me to having to do my own research. Overall it’s a great kit, and an awesome starting point for anyone interested in gastronomy.

The flavors and presentation that can be created is off the charts

I'm not a culinary expert. Yes, I went to culinary school 25 years ago and still cook to this day but I didn't know what almost all of these ingredients were that are in the packets. The cookbook has promise, I can't wait to make more items in it but my first recipe, bacon powder, used all of the tapioca maltodextrin that was in the box. The bacon powder didn't turn into powder but more of a paste so obviously it needed more than I actually had. The instructions are in grams so I had to do that conversion through Google and on top of all of that, the batteries that came with the scale were corroded so luckily I had AAA in the house to use it. Worth the money? I don't think so, but I'm going to continue with it and see if I can make something successful. Is it fair to write this review after only 1 try, probably not. I wouldn't gift this for someone who didn't know what the items are. Do the research, buy the smaller version and save some money.
