Inexpensive unit perfect for older installations which use threaded 1/2 or 3/4 ips pipes
I used this to replace one that looks identical but the new unit feels lighter. After screwing it in the diverter valve actuator got a lot stiffer an its stiffer than the old unit. If you are buying this be aware that it uses a threaded fitting it is not a slip on unit. It accommodates either 0.5" or 3/4" ips pipe fittings via the supplied adapter a 3/4" threaded pipe actually measures approx 1" over the threads if you are checking the mounting. It is important the pipe stub sticking out from the wall be much shorter than that required for a slide on unit. Eyeballing mine it stuck out about 1/2" or maybe a little more

Works perfectly
Great price, great instructions, hard to find in general stores. Easy enough for a non-plumber girl to install. If you have a longer valve stem just don't forget the separate trim piece.

Cheap but Works
Not the best quality but it works good for the price.

Looks great and easy to install
Item looked just like the picture, so that was great. Descent quality (time will tell - I will update if it does not hold up). Easy to install. Diverter for shower worked perfectly.

Chromed plastic, but it works, so...
This is metal-plated plastic. The one I am replacing was installed 50 years ago, and was cast metal, with a plastic threaded insert in back. What I dislike about the style of both the old and new one is that the interior stays filled partway with water, since it is a tapered structure, with a larger diameter at the wall end. That is where the water stays. They could have engineered that better, for sure. But, it works, and has no demands except the simple flow diverter, which just needs to work, and it does. "Next!” 😃

Worked Until It Didn't
Worked until it didn't. It worked well for 4 years. Then yesterday the pull pin broke. A small piece of metal fell out of the spout. I temporarily fixed it in shower mode with some silicone adhesive until I can get a new one. It did its' job as it was designed until it broke.

Purchased to use on a 1/2” pipe, and unfortunately it did not fit!
I have changed many shower diverters, most of them being 3/4” connections. I needed a diverter for a 1/2” connection and tried three different DANCO diverters, unfortunately none of them worked. The plastic piece that is supposed to convert the connection to a 1/2” pipe was too small each time. I went to four different stores to buy these and each time the employees said that they’d work. At the last store which was a plumbing supply shop we tried to put a 1/2” pipe into the diverter to test it and the plastic connection was too small. The store employee was surprised that it would not fit. Not sure why these are flawed, but if you need an 1/2” connection I’d pass on this one. You can see the pipe that I was connecting to in my photos, it’s a standard 1/2” pipe! Eventually I bought a shower diverter with a brass connector which worked perfectly. This was really time consuming, and unfortunate! Tom Feddor, Chicago, IL.

Came with an 1/2" -> 3/4" adapter (that we didn't need), and was VERY easy to install. Took about 5 minutes, we haven't seen any leaks, works great, and seems to be of sturdy quality. Shipping was super fast, highly recommended!

Product works fine and service from Amazon is great. The diverter in shower mode drips water slightly out the faucet. Other than that the product works fine and installed well. It's only a slight trickle and has no effect on the shower pressure.

Says that it made of metal, but it feels very lite also very thin not sure could be hard plastic, I installed it a few days ago and so far it’s working great. I had to change the pipe that connects it for a shorter one, wasn’t too hard. Took me about 10 minutes I bought a second one to have as a spare, because I am unsure of how long it will last
