Reliable as always.
Having used this for a while now I’m happy to write an informed review. As a bit of background; every summer I trim my hair right down, easier to manage in the heat. Plus with what’s going on right now, can’t exactly nip to the barbers. On top (or underneath) of that I’ve got a beard which depending on how much I can be bothered varies in length from 10mm to 30mm. Anyway. Moving on. I’ve used Philips for years. Always found them reliable and long lasting. Especially the battery. Last one wasn’t quite up to scratch, the part that held the comb in place wasn’t quite good enough so that led me on a track to looking for another brand that would suffice for my hair and my beard. But had to be easy enough for me to do my own hair when the Mrs couldn’t be bothered. So I bought the Wahl Aqua. Repackaged and sent back with hours. Utter rubbish. Then bought the same day. By a long way the best trimmer of any kind I’ve ever owned. And I’ve had loads of them. Since leaving the military I don’t shave, I merely trim my beard every three days instead and now my hair as well (without guide comb so 0.4mm). Battery lasts forever. I’ve owned this nearly two months and charged it twice but it gets used two or three times a week for between 15-30 minutes each time. Comes with two combs which is handy if your desired beard length is longer, one does 0.4 to 10mm the other does 10-20mm I think. Loads of increments as well. I use this without the guide comb on my hair and it’s smooth and easy, not too heavy so easy enough if you’re doing your own hair. Waterproof as well which is cool but I wouldn’t use any of them in the shower regardless if their waterproof or not. Not worth it. Just take it as meaning you can clean it under tap. Although from my own experience, stick the head under tap and point the charging port at the bottom upwards and away from the water. Always try to keep the charging port dry. Purely because I see this question asked a hell of a lot- And guys just remember, if a trimmer is good for beards it should deal with head hair no problem. That’s always been my experience anyway. Facial hair tends to be thicker than head hair so don’t worry if it doesn’t mention hair trimmer in the description. The only thing being, depending on how you cut you hair, is the attachments it comes with. But that’s all subjective. Anyway. Recap. Superb trimmer, 5 star, amazing battery, Rapid charging, decent attachments, very well made, waterproof (DONT USE IN THE SHOWER THOUGH!!! Just clean under the tap), does hair and beard. Team it up with either the Philips mini trimmer or the mini foil trimmer and that’ll take care of the edges of your beard as well. Although I often use a safety razor instead but I do own all of the above. Depends on the scenario to be honest. Guys. Take it from me. This is a winner. And yes, I paid full price for this, not a vine review or discounted etc.

Great beard and stubble trimmer, best I have had yet.
I have had various beard trimmers over the years, Remington, Philips, Wahl, Silverlight (LIDL) and a couple of others. The only one I really liked and that lasted well was an older Philips trimmer. The Remington was a pain as it was a cabled trimmer and the depth guides weren't that accurate. The build quality of the Wahl was atrocious and it fell apart just oput of warranty! The Silverlight was OK but the battery didn't hold charge very long. So when I saw another Philips on 'Deal of the Day' I thought why not give it a go. First impressions were good, as on my earlier Philips the trimmer is self-sharpening and does not require oiling; the build quality is great and feels solid in the hand; and, the guides are slightly different from other trimmers, they have two prongs that slot into the top of the trimmer. OK, charged it up and off I went. Set the length to 2.5mm and lo and behold it trimmed my beard to the perfect length...this has always been hit and miss in the past as with all others I had to use the shortest setting and even then the length was often still too long. Two guides are provided and there is a dial on the front for setting the length using each allowing a range between 1mm and 20mm. Cleaning is simple, the trimmer blades having a positive and firm click into and out of the handle. I have tried various other length settings and there is a noticeable difference between each, 3mm is too long for me and leaves my beard looking slightly scriffy, while 2mm is too short for my liking but at least you can see the difference! I have used it for trimming the edge of my hair, particularly around my ears, but I wouldn't try and trim my whole head with it because the blade is quite narrow, being designed as a bear trimmer. As to the battery charge hold, in a year of use I have charged it only four or five times after using it 2 or 3 times each week. I must say, this is probably the most accurate (for length) and best quality beard trimmer I have ever used.

Great Beard Trimmer
This beard trimmer does everything you need. I love that all the different lengths you need are all in one attachment and you control the length with the roller situated on the handle. Which makes it very easy to use and minimises the need to keep changing trimmer heads like with other trimmers. One charge easily lasts me upwards of a month so no need to charge all the time. The cut is gentle and has never pulled my hair, the trimmer slides gently and easy. I love that's water proof and can just be washed under the tap it makes it very versatile as you can use it wet if wanted and easy to clean. The only issues I have with it are that 1 is a little larger than expected which can be awkward at times, but just takes getting used to. 2 is that you have to shave at particular angle for it to work right due to how the trimmer headand guard works. And last 3 when using without the trimmer head you have to be careful around sensitive areas, as this did cut my lip when trimming round the mouth. All in all still a great trimmer and I highly recommend

Great value for money - I love it
Previously I have spent £10-20 on cheaper models but they only last 6 months or so. This is more money but a much much better device - well worth the extra. I use this for my head and beard and love it. Also you don’t need to put oil on the cutter, you just wash with water- not needed to recharge since I bought it. You won’t be disappointed

Good trimmer
Good as a strummer for my manscaping down below. Keeps everything well trimmed and makes it look more impressive as not covered in undergrowth when photographing it

Replacement for previous philips beard trimmer
Pros: This is an overall good beard trimmer. It is a larger trimmer than my previous Philips beard trimmer, It allows for more cutting lengths as it also has a bigger attachment to cut hair which does a decent job too. The battery length is good so allows for longer use. I did try a Panasonic beard trimmer prior to this purchase but that one kept catching my beard hair (causing pain) so had to return it, where as this one smoothly trims my beard. Con: Just can't cut very closely when no guard is used, but its close enough for me for day to day. It does require repeated passes when cutting hair as it doesn't cut all the hairs in one pass.

Superb beard trimmer and best across Philips range.
This is a really good quality beard trimmer, and thats what it is a beard trimmer and beard trimmer only, not a all in one groomer or shaver. It's also the best and most versatile across Philips entire range, even exceeding the 9000. This one has the widest range of cutting directly on the shaver from a almost close shave 0.4mm right through to a long 20mm. The shaver comes with two plastic covers to assist in shaving from 0.4 - 10 & 10 - 20, there's no other unessasary extras, other than a small cleaning brush and pouch. Its all you need. The quality of the shaver is outstanding, although I did expect it to have more weight. Its made from two tone plastic and the black areas have a pattern to aid grip, I would have preffered a rubberized grip, but you only get this on the slightly recessed depth dial which goes up in small 0.4 increments. It uses a ratcheting wheel and the settings are very definite and click reassuringly into place to hold the setting. The on/off button, also recessed is beneath the control dial. The blades are poilished stainless steel and measure a fraction over 3cm across, the blades utilise Philips Lift & Trim Pro System and are very smooth with no nipping or catching. The blades also claim to be self sharpening and require not oil to maintain. I did have a Braun shaver years ago and eventually over time it started to nip and tear, we'll just have to see how the Philips hold up, they all start up perfect, but the real test is how they trim over time and repeated use. The trimming really is extra smoot and does not even nip or struggle cutting denser areas of stubble. Highly recommended and a great price.
