I really enjoy using these color hair waxes — especially the white and silver. They’re great not only for costumes or events, but also just for everyday fun. I joke that they’re like a mood ring for your hair, because I’ll match the color to my shirt or to how I’m feeling that day. This wax gives strong, visible color even on darker hair, and it also works as a styling product since it has the texture of a regular hair wax. It holds your hair in place nicely. A couple things to know: It does make your hair feel a little dry, but that’s normal for wax-based products. The color is NOT permanent at all — people often assume it’s a dye, but it washes out immediately. Just running water through your hair basically removes most of it, and a quick shampoo gets rid of the rest. Overall, it’s a fun, easy, and super versatile way to change up your look without committing to anything permanent. Highly recommend if you want something playful, creative, and low-effort.

This product was even better than I'd hoped for. I used the silver and white for a cosplay costume, and it was AMAZING. The best comparison I can make is that it has the consistency of icing that you would use on a birthday cake, which makes it easy to work with. Because it is so spreadable, you can really work it into your hair. My hair is dark, almost black, and I have neon green tips. The second pic shows my natural color, so you can see the difference. The character I was playing has salt and pepper hair. The first pic shows the results on my dark hair, and the character I was cosplaying so you can see (Yeah, it's way long. I started growing it out after covid in Feb 2020, and now I have long rockstar hair) I did not want to use the color hair spray that you get at Wal-Mart or Spirit Halloween because it makes your hair crunchy. This product was not like that at all. I used just enough to tone my hair so that it had the look I wanted. It even masked my neon green tips. Once it was on, my hair was soft, but it also kept its shape (I wanted it to be kind of wavy). It smells great too! It washes out like any other hair product. No trouble. Just some shampoo, and it was gone. No residue on my hands from applying it, none in the sink when I washed my hands after putting it in, and none in the shower after I washed my hair. It stayed on for the whole day and the entire next day too. I didn't notice that it rubbed off on anything. When I slept with it overnight, it did not get on my pillowcase at all, which kind of surprised me. It did not come off on my skin when I sweated either, and I totally sweated because my costume was all a real leather biker jacket in 100 degrees summer heat. My advice -- Apply on wet hair. I wore this in my hair three days. The first day, I applied it with wet hair out of the shower, and the second day, I used it with dry hair. The application was easier and results better when I applied it on wet hair. I don't think your hair is going to be as brightly colored as the pictures show, but you will definitely have color. I don't know about the other colors, but I was super pleased with the white and silver. I will use this in the future for other cosplay and even for some cool looks. I will probably try the other colors too. For the cost, it is a great product.

I want to add for reference that my hair is dark brown and fine. I followed the directions exactly but after one swipe or two the product practically disappeared. Photo 1 is after about five minutes trying to work it into that strand. I tried that tactic for about thirty minutes but it just kept knotting and disappearing. I put my hair in a ponytail for the character I was doing, and just lathered it on. That was the only way I could get it to show up. It basically made my hair feel like straw. It was very uncomfortable and messy even after drying. The only good thing was the ease of removal. I did three round of shampoo and most of it was gone by the second, I just wanted to be sure. Pic 3 is after my shower to show the difference in texture and color. All in all, would not recommend for any serious costumes. I was lucky and just needed it for a kids party.

This great for a costume. This is 100% temporary and should not be bought as a long lasting die. It washes away in the shower, it basically tinted wax. That's all. If you understand that purpose, this is a great product. Maybe just a bit not colored enough if you have darker hair (you just have to put more, which makes the hair stiffer).

It was fairly effective and had a decent color payoff in my light brown hair, however it was VERY strongly scented (smelled like a men's cologne) and it took 5-6 washes per use to get the scent out of my hair even after the product was all washed out. It also made my scalp itchy after about an hour of having it in and my scalp is not super sensitive.

This worked really well for a lady joker costume. It holds the hair in place when it dries and the green shows up really well. Also, a little bit goes a long way. We did 2 women's hair with one container. Washes out easily with shampoo.

Got this for my Chucky costume in lieu of a wig for cost saving purposes. I’m a brunette and not sure how much the color was going to come through based on other reviews. When I first put it on, I freaked out as it looked totally yellow due to the lighting in my bathroom. Was determined to go get a wig instead but due to weather and time restraints I just went with it. I added a little more color and used the blow dryer as the instructions said and just left it alone. Went outside to have a cigarette with my husband and he was like the color looks great, he took a picture and sure did. I thought it was perfection! The lights definitely play a role on what the color looks like. I posted different pictures for reference. It’s also somewhat shimmery but only noticeable on your clothes and hands. It did rub off a little bit on my coat but I was able to wipe it off with a damp towel. I had to use a crappy pillowcase to sleep at night as I was to lazy to shower afterwards and glad I did as the pillowcase was completely orange the next day. Wishing it off was fairly easy though all things considered. I just shampooed twice. I only used less than half of the container and I have long hair. I event applied it on my eyebrows with no problems. The only minor complaint I have is that it doesn’t come with instructions but I found them on the amazing product info. I totally recommend this product.

Colors well but leaves greasy residues all over, even in the bathtub after a shower
