After using the casters a couple weeks, I noticed groves or scratches in my hardwood floor. We sanded down the seam on each caster and reinstalled the casters. However, the floors are already damaged. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well for super plush carpet. *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2019* Ok so I have an expensive office chair & recently replace my carpet with super plush “silk strand” style carpeting. I didn’t want my casters ruining my new carpet & I dislike using the terrible plastic mats. So I replaced the casters on my chair.I was going to try those rollerblade style caters but those seem better suited for hard floors, I was scared that the minimal contact points would cut up my expensive carpet even worse than the original plastic ones.I chose these because they are made of what appears to be hard plastic or rubber. They have wide 2 inch contact points with the carpet that spread out the weight of the chair & my body over more surface area so they don’t tear up my carpet.In reality I would give these 4.5 stars because they are still a bit on the smaller side, I wish they were 3 or 4 inches. This would spread the weight out even more & allow them to roll better on my carpet. These do roll well with the empty chair but with my weight on the chair (180 lbs) it is more difficult to slide around but not impossible. So I slightly lift my body up when moving the chair to make sliding around easier.This is the best solution I have found thus far, I’ve had them for about 45 days & they dont seem to be harming my carpet, so I recommend these if you have super plush carpet & are trying to avoid using mats. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Work as described. The chair is a very large presidential desk chair 9leathe & wood) for our presidential desk. The chair came used with no wheels. I had purchased these same type wheels for it from Home Depot, but did not realize that the wheels needed to be a screw-in type. After purchasing the ones from Home Depot for about $20.00 ($4.00 ea.) and went to install them they had 1/4" non-threaded insert type stem. So I put up with them falling out once in a while as I did not use that office very often. After having to use the office on a daily basis working remote now, I could not play the "insert the caster" games anymore. So further inspection revealed the chair needed 3/8" screw-in type. Home Depot did not have this type of wheel, so I went where everyone goes to find what they need, Amazon to the rescue. I received these a little slower than usual, but I believe everything is coming in slower now since the virus hit. When they arrived, I installed them with no problems. I wish I bought these a long time ago. I love this chair now. These wheels appear to be what should have been on it. The color and fit are perfect. They are as sturdy as the ones I had on it, but with a perfect fit. The color matches the upholstery tacks in the leather. Other than the price is a little more, I like them and will purchase again if the need should arise.
