Lonely Planet Food Lover's Guide to the World: Experience the Great Global Cuisines

I had to subtract a star because there are a lot of typos that slipped by in this book. I am just a little surprised to see that in a lonely planet book but it didn't ruin it for me. Beautiful pictures and cool recipes and articles. Lovely for a coffee table book but I read it and kept it on my bed stand. It didn't get too off beat and taught me a lot about different regions. The basic recipes look like they are easy to follow and not unrealistic. Love it!

I got this as a gift for my boyfriends brother, he works for an airline and has free flight benefits so he travels a lot. He often travels alone and is looking for good places to eat in different countries, this is a great idea for any traveler. Down side is that this book is really big, it looks like a college text book.

This is exactly what I was hoping for. As I've begun to explore the world, I find that I'm increasingly interested in the various dishes and ingredients used by other cultures; I love the history and the insights you get into daily life. Some of my favorites are in this book, along with beautiful pictures and detailed history/explanations. Lots of recipes are included, as well as recommendations on where to find the best local dishes when traveling. It's also very well made with a gorgeous cover. Perfect!

I bought this for my son and his French wife who live in France. He recently visited me and mentioned that he had really enjoyed the book...the photos were wonderful. Now he is going to try some of the recipes, said they sounded wonderful! My gift was a hit!

I gave "Food Lover's Guide to the World" as a Christmas present and the person who received it was very pleased with the gift. He liked that it was from "Lonely Planet", and said he was looking forward to reading/using it!

A great book for any foodie. This is not only a good book to browse and have on the cocktail table but also many good recipes. A most unique book.

I was hoping for more restaurant suggestions and less fluff and recipes. On the positive side, the photos are nice.

It gave very little information for such a big book. I really would like to return it for something else but I do not have the original box.

Amazing book!!!!I chose 4 stars instead of 5 because the waiting time for the delivery was quite a long time.

Excellant value . My partner who thinks he is a chef and cooks beautifully used this only the other day to create a delicious restaurant style meal yet again . Lucky me .

Really nicely written book, great pictures and range of foods covered!This was a gift to me, and I am so grateful as someone who loves to travel, and experience different cuisines.
