So close to perfect..
I became very interested in this case when I saw the CES announcement it was shipping and because it compared to the Clamcase which from what I hear is the gold standard keyboard case. The idea of being able to use the iPad mini as a tablet without taking it out of the keyboard case is a very novel idea. I like it a lot. I love flipping the keyboard away and playing games right on the ipad. The bluetooth works fine.But...The keyboard...it's very cheap. I would have expected that since the case adds some extra space that they would use it for bigger keys; instead it is used for the on/off switch, battery charge light and caps lock light. WHY? There needs to be better spacing between the keys. Also, the keyboard has odd key placement. The question mark for example requires a press of the "fn" key and the letter "q"..it is so not intuitive. The apostrophe key is also not where it should be. It is very difficult to blind type on this keyboard and in addition the case is not backlit like a ZAGG one.The good thing is that there is a tab key, which the ZAGG key puts as a 2-key press (ugh). There is no "spotlight" key but there is a lock key and there are volume, and brightness keys which require multiple keypresses. The case itself feels solid. It's kind of heavy and slippery at the same time. The price isn't bad at all but you have to make some sacrifices on the keys for it to work. For me, between the very tight key spacing and the odd placement of some punctuation keys makes it difficult to recommend as a keyboard.

Its ok for the price
I was going to get the ZAGG.. but the deal killer for me was that in order to use it as a tablet, I'd have to take it out of its case and use it standalone. Then I saw the iGear and its flip back design so I could use it as a tablet without having to remove it. That sold me.For the price, I like it. Sure, back lit keys and an overall better feel on the keys themselves would be nice, but then I'd have to pay more. If I wanted to pay more, I'd just buy a laptop! I didn't want to pay more, so I was ok with a few less features. A tablet is NOT supposed to be a laptop replacement, so I wasn't looking for a case that would do that for me. If you want USB jacks, trackpads, back lit keys, and a laptop feel, BUY A LAPTOP.The price is right, so I am ok with the few flaws it has. The one thing I HATE is not having an apostrophe key. It just baffles me how a heavily used key needs a second key in order to make it work. I just don't understand the logic of that. But overall I like it. It seems sturdy enough. The battery power seems great. And the price was right to keep me away from the price of a laptop. I'll recommend it to my friends without question.

Pretty damn good clamshell case
I usually don't write reviews but for some reason I was compelled to write this one...and I consider it poetic that I'm writing it on my iPad mini using the iGear. This case has so far lived up to its claims perfectly and the price point compared to ClamCase is the best thing ever. The hinge is sturdy, the keyboard is reponsive, the protection it provides is outstanding (it was dropped from waist hight in to concrete and only has a scratch to show for it) and the battery life is phenominal! So you're probably wondering why I gave it 4 and not 5 stars well its for something silly and something I knew about, the placement of the " ' " (apostrophe) key. I big on researching things before I buy and had read about it before I purchased and it was the only comment I gave any weight too. I have to adimit after using this case every day since I purchased it I'm just now coming to get used to typing on it. I wish they would have found a better way to set the macros and key placement of certain things.Would I recommend this to anyone looking for a clamshell case?....HELL YEAH....but I would deffinately warn them about the key placement and the learning curve/time it will take to get used to it. Some may not want to take the time to bother.

Awesome for iPad Mini Retina!
I love my iGear Flip Turn Case! It is very well made and very versatile. It fits my iPad Mini Retina like a glove! I like that I can have a keyboard, or flip it around for using the iPad like I normally do. However, the best feature is the hinge that let's me set the case in my lap at any angle. The keys have a nice touch to them. My iPad connected right away and pairs up easily every time. The case adds a little weight, so sometimes I will probably use a thin folio case when I want to put my iPad in my purse. The iPad comes out of the top of the iGear very easily, so that won't be a problem.I looked a long time for a case like this with a hinge because I was so used to my Joby Ori for my iPad 2 that has a hinge. They allow you to set the iPad in your lap and they don't fall out of a groove, plus you can set them at any angle, not predetermined ones. They allow you to be hands free.I highly recommend this case! I feel it was a good buy at $69 plus free shipping from Amazon.
