... these speakers for my sons computer & they worked fine for a while I thought
I bought these speakers for my sons computer & they worked fine for a while I thought, but my son said he had nothing but problems with them there seems to be no drive for them. They would work off and on, after he pulled them out of the USB on the computer and stuck it back in it would work again for a while & stop working again. We didn't get around to returning them because he was busy with school & work and I should have been more diligent but it's too late know they are out of warranty. I have checked with Windows operating updates & Microsoft & there are no drive updates, heck Microsoft can even locate the drive for them. Sometimes they work & sometimes they don't. I would not waste my time looking at these! "Very disappointing" they are a nice looking pair of portable laptop speakers if they only worked all the time? for there size they could sound better too.

Initially OK
Initially these worked fine, but upon awaking my computer, they could not be recognized. By two separate PC's. The next day when getting ready to return them I tried again and they worked. So unable to determine if it was a computer/software driver issue or hardware... Sound was OK but I went with the Micca MB42X Bookshelf Micca MB42X Bookshelf Speakers With 4-Inch Carbon Fiber Woofer and Silk Dome Tweeter (Black, Pair) Speakers and LP-2020A+ Lepai Tripath Class-T Amp LP-2020A+ Lepai Tripath Class-T Hi-Fi Audio Mini Amplifier with Power Supply which are in a different league alltogether and well worth the additional expense :)

sounds and looks good
Fantastic sound compared to my laptop speakers with room filling volume. Base is good for their size, but of course not as good as bookshelf speakers. They look great, and only having one cord to manage is very nice. The volume buttons are nice to have but change volume very slowly.

Great sound for the laptop.
The second set I have purchased. This time it was for a gift.

Sounds ok when working but terrible customer support
I bought a set about 31/2months ago from a now-defunct on-line outlet. And, silly me, I did not make print out of the transaction record as I never had any problem with them. And sure enough, something hit the fan. Mine was not either not detected or diagnosed as not working or indicated as device is working properly but no sound. Some other occasions, they work just fine with two different makes of desk tops I use. I reached Pioneer customer support and, to my surprise, I did get the response. I explained the situation and, in the third communication, another personnel asked me for serial number That's when I noticed Manufacturing date which is October 2012. Today is October 28, 2013. Warranty says 1year coverage. Only thing she told me was to take it to near-by dealer and see if it is fixable as I could not produce the invoice. To me, it is clear I purchased it within one year of manufacture. So, SAVE YOUR INVOICE!!!, people. As for me, no more Pioneer product. I am glad I have nothing else of Pioneer product. I decided to write this review when I came across it when I was browsing for speakers. Sigh....

Pioneer USB=Powered Computer Speaker
Having first purchased Logitech S150 USB speakers, which have poor instructions forcing me to Google to learn how to set it up, and having to return the two orders, owing to the fact that I could not sound after about a week, I decided to order the Pioneer. Wunderbar! The volume control is a dial, the volume great, I am one happy, soon to be 82-year-old crank.

Good buy
Easy to set up, just plug and play. Good value and they feel very durable. The only downside is the cord is only about a foot long.

Very Good Speakers
Although, to me, not their best set of usb speakers but very good. The frequency response is good but not as bassy as some of the others Pioneer provides. But you won't go wrong in the purchase...very modular and modern looking.
