![The Time Tunnel - The Complete Series [DVD] [1968] [Region2] Requires a Multi Region Player](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51vxPfnXViL.jpg)

From the creative genius of Irwin Allen comes one of the most popular and original sci-fi shows of the 1960s, starring James Darren and Robert Colbert! The control of time is potentially the most valuable treasure that man will ever find. Or so believe the scientists of Project Tic Toc. Located beneath the Arizona desert, the ten-year project s focus is the feasibility of time travel. But when the government reconsiders the project, the scientists have only 24 hours to prove their untested Time Tunnel will actually work. Determined to save the project, Dr Tony Newman and Dr Doug Phillips go through the tunnel and quickly find themselves catapulted from one historical event to another, barely escaping with their lives as their colleagues back in Arizona race to figure out a way to bring them back home. Blu ray transfer is terrific. Picture is flawless, spotless and, crystal clean- no artifacts or damages to the print whatsoever. It comes with 2.0 or 5.1 channel audio options. The only times the picture quality is not HD quality are the scenes which are stock footages. This show has used stock footages from different shows/films as part of their production design (for example the scenes of battle in Troy in one episode, and the scenes with American Indians in another episode). Those scenes are not converted to true HD so the picture quality is drastically different from all the other scenes but they are very few and negligible. I have noticed some negative reviews about the DVDs not playing on the DVD player. I suspect those customers have put the blu ray discs in a regular DVD player, and of course, DVD player cannot play blu ray disc. Or maybe they bought the DVD edition (which was region 2) and their reviews show up on the blu ray edition of the product. This release is a region free blu ray release (same item is also sold on desertcart UK and it says in the product details that it is region free) ; I had no problem playing the discs on my North American Sony and Samsung blu ray players. However, there is a notice in the product description stating this product as region 2/B. I think this notice is incorrect and probably a carry over description from the DVD edition. If you enjoy classic sci-fi, you will surely enjoy this series. Review: Content and quality are the best. The series has never looked this good. - Arrived on time and with no damage. I would pay even more money for this blu-ray package. Quality of the content of the series and bonus features is excellent. The series itself for me has never looked this good. I appreciate the care the shows creators took with filming quality that has now been brought forward on these discs. Very high nostalgia combined with an advanced concept and good acting is really enjoyable. Apparently others also feel it should never have been cancelled since two newer pilots were made to try and restart the show. They are also on these discs. This edition is the one to get - by far worth the money.

One of the Best Sci-Fi Shows
This was one of the best one season shows ever; sci-fi or not. The image quality is outstanding and like the 1960s Batman blu ray release, the episodes never looked better. The behind the scenes special features are nice in this set, too. My favorite episode is the pilot with the sinking of the Titanic. Second, would be the Pearl Harbor attack when one of the main characters (Tony) meets himself! Next, on the Time Tunnel!

Great television series
One of my favorite television shows that I watched as a child, now reliving it on Blu-ray! Great box set to own! Set came earlier than promised and in excellent condition!

Irwin Allen’s best series receives a top notch Blu-ray transfer (its region free as well).
“The Time Tunnel” had so much potential to change science fiction on Television much as “Star Trek” did, it’s a bit disappointing that it didn’t. The first and only season of the series features an imaginative, well produced and fun series. By the mid point of the 30 episodes of the series, the show began a decline in writing. By the end, it fell off into the second season of “Lost in Space” territory. Nevertheless, the pilot is marvelous featuring top notch production design, visual effects, acting, direction and writing for the 1960’s. It also would inspire the critically acclaimed “Quantum Leap” decades later even going so far as to replicate the main plot point of what motivates Tony (“The Time Tunnel”) and Sam (“Quantum Leap”) to use their respective devices. Some where in the desert, underground is a secret military project. Project Tick-Tock is the baby of Dr. Tony Newman(James Darren) and Dr. Doug Phillips (Robert Colbert) and they are showing it off to a senator (Gary Merrill) who will help determine if the decade of funding should be continued for a device that will allow humans to travel back in time with a electronic tether to pull them back when it’s time to return. The challenge to the team is to accomplish that task. When Newman is turned down for the first mission, he goes it alone. Phillips follows in hope of rescuing him and returning him home. The story is well written and well made with plenty of excited. The succeeding episodes were, likewise, well written and, if nothing else, entertaining. As mentioned, like all Irwin Allen series, the show ran off the rails midway through its run and the budget got tighter as Allen notorious spent most of his budget up front. That’s evident from the pilot episode. While the decline in quality was fairly rapid after the 16th episode, it is still fun and goofy. The image quality of this region free Blu-ray is top notch. This despite the fact that the bit rate for each episode averages 11.9 mbps. The series looks quite good in motion and the encode is solid as well. Colors look quite strong with great depth and detail in the presentation. Audio sounds quite nice with a solid mono presentation. Dialogue is clear and crisp and subtitles are in English. There’s also a decent 5.1 repurposed soundtrack as well. The special features are terrific. While there aren’t any commentary tracks (the pilot cries out for one), there are interviews with the original cast, Irwin Allen’s home movies (all silent and lasting about an hour and a half) with plenty of behind-the scenes footage. The original pilot episodes which differs a tiny bit from the aired one (and you’ll see more of guest star Dennis Hopper in it while he is little more than a background performer in the aired version) . There’s also the pilot for the 2002 series (which was never picked up) , the TV movie “The Time Travelers”. The TV film was meant to be a reboot of “The Time Tunnel” of sorts on a lower budget. Promo TV spots, visual effects, camera tests and an image gallery round out the special features. A good 60’s Tv series, “The Time Tunnel” provided a strong science fiction series during the first half of its first season. It’s still fun to watch. Debuting the same year as “Star Trek” the series was a solidly entertaining series. Packaged in an Amray Blu-ray all,the discs are in one set.

Delivered in excellent condition. Reasonable delivery time. The Blue Ray played no problem on my Candian player. There was no printed info on region. The image quality and color are really good, pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the first three episodes I watched that night. I saw a bit in my teens, I really wanted to see them all. It's great Science Fiction.

Les épisodes que j'ai trouvé les meilleurs sont "The Day the Sky Fell In", "Kill Two by Two" et "Billy the Kid" et à la rigueur "The Death Trap". Globalement ceux qui ont pour cadre l'antiquité ou les temps anciens utilisent une grande quantité d'images d'archives et sont moins intéressants. Je trouve aussi qu'il y a une baisse du niveau des épisodes vers la fin. SI je devais les découper en deux catégories, les bons et les mauvais, je le ferais ainsi : LES BONS 1-Rendezvous with yesterday 2-One way to the moon 4-Secret weapon 5-End of the world 6-The day the sky fell in 7-Crack of doom 11-Devil’s Island 12-Reign of terror 13-The Death Trap 16-Invasion 19-Kill Two By Two 22- Idol of Death 23-Billy the Kid 24- Chase Through Time 25-The Death Merchant 30-Town of Terror LES MAUVAIS 3-Revenge of the gods 8-The last patrol 9-Massacre 10-Pirate of deadman’s island 14-The Alamo 15-Night Of The Long Knives 17-The Revenge of Robin Hood 18-Visitors from Beyond the Stars 20- The Ghost Of Nero 21-The Walls Of Jericho 26-Attack Of The Barbarians 27- The Kidnappers 28-Merlin The Magician 29-Raiders from Outer Space La numérotation est donnée ici selon l'ordre du tournage des épisodes, qui n'est ni celui de la diffusion ni celui de production.
