Works well, persists for a few months - this is my go-to hair dye because the price is right :)

So after giving it another shot, I changed to 5-stars. I leave the original review I wrote, since it might be useful for timing purposes. But the subsequent times I tried it, I’m satisfied with the results. Good thing about this product is, it can be reused. Basically measure out 50/50 both liquids in a quantity as needed, mix it up with a stick or something and apply. Previously I’ve used “Just For Men” product and really got tired of it’s inconsistent results, not to mention it’s very overpriced for the tiny amount they give. But mainly it just wouldn’t cover the greys well. This Revlon is a lot better and consistently covers greys. It’s very fast so make sure to time it right. Start with 10 mins and if it’s not enough go up a bit. For me, I’d say 20min is absolute hard limit, otherwise the hair looks too black. My hair is naturally “light black”, so maybe I should try darkest brown from these guys, haven’t seen it available though, so will use this for now. Also if your whole head is wet after you’ve applied the product, you might consider using less product, as I’ve noticed that also results in overall darker tone when I use too much. Good luck! Initial review (first attempt): My hair is naturally black, I would say light black. The instructions said “for resistant grey hair leave additional 5 minutes”, bringing the total to 30 minutes. So that’s what I did. It didn’t say but beware, if you have light black hair it will make your head look like a charcoal. Completely unnatural black, darkest jet black possible. It did cover all greys but at the cost of turning my hair into undesirable and unnatural color. Your results may vary if your hair is lighter, but if it’s more on the dark side, I wouldn’t recommend 30 minutes. Maybe try 10 or 15 first just to be on the safe side. But I have only tried it once at 30 mins, so I’ve no idea of how that’s really going to work out. Definitely exercise caution.

Good product

This dye is permanent and fades to brown. I am a natural blond and this product goes on as a nice shade of black but faded to and stayed a medium brown over time when not used continually. I am impressed though as it has lasted for about a year as this brown, it has great coverage, and hides the blond well.

I have been buying this hair dye for years and really dont have any complaints. Its very good for touching up my roots and the color lasts until my roots grow out. I always get soft black and I love how the color comes out. Has great coverage and the price is a steal. Yes you can spend more and get ones that have serum's with them and all the extra's to help keep your hair healthy but this is good for someone on a budget or just needs a quick touch up. My hair never comes out damaged but you should do some deep conditioning regardless after dying your hair. After dying also dont wash your hair for a few days to give the color time to set and when washing your hair after the initial dye job makes sure to keep washing until water runs clear...thats my tip that no one asked for. Do I recommend this dye? 100%

Wow!! Absolutely blown away once again! This is one of the cheapest hair dyes on the market and yet I cannot find anything! I have used Clairol regular hair dye, Root touch up, Garnier fructis, and even the $16 John Frieda hair dye mousse but this $2.99 hair dye blows the competition out of the water! I use this to go from my natural shade of a medium brown to a soft black using the color in Soft Black. The directions are simple and easy to follow and come with a moisturizing conditioner. For even more luxurious hair, I recommend adding a hair oil or deep conditioner to the hair dye to condition while dying. Although color will run for the next 3-4 washes, after that, the color stays PUT until you either chop off your hair or color it again. Black is a very difficult color to keep vibrant and fresh with other hair dyes easily washing out or fading but Revlon color silk is something else!! NOT TO MENTION, your piggy bank will love you for all the money you save!!!!

I used this to dye a piece of deer taxidermy I had and it worked incredibly well. No one else is probably looking to do this but in case you are, this is the dye to get! Probably works good on humans too or whatever.

It’s just black box dye it does what it’s supposed to do🤷🏻‍♀️

Love that this product has no ammonia in it! Still stinks like hair dye but obviously not the heavy ammonia smell. I have grey hair and the black colour covered it perfectly. I will only use this moving forward.

Was impress with this coverage...shine and last long too...I definalty to contiue to use this brand .
