He is on the smaller size but this scooter is still a perfect size for him. He does jumps, etc. on it and it is light enough where he can do a "jump" and get both wheels off the ground. It looks really cool too and is super easy to put together. I did have to grease up the wheels after we put it together to make it roll a bit faster and smoother (I used Teflon bike lube). Good scooter. UPDATE 2 days later (after hours of heavy use): So, my kid is big into doing “burnouts” - hard breaks and slides. The back wheel wore out so badly that it now has hard angles in it. I am still going to keep the review at 5 stars because, the reality is, you are not really supposed to be doing hard breaking on scooters. But, I ordered a set of harder wheels.
