Unless the sandisk extreme pro has a width / height very very close to the Samsung T5 and a usb-c connector right in the middle. However, Smallrig has an universal SSD mount. **Q: Can i buy the older version? i really dislike how the new version mounts sideways and the usb cable sticks out.** A: If you can buy it, not that different though. **Q: Could i use this with a crucial x8 ssd?** A: This only fits the Samsung T5. **Q: can this mount directly on tripod mount with only one screw?** A: No, It does not have a female 1/4 20. The 4K cage was configured that way. It was cumbersome and clunky. For the new SmallRig cages, for my BMDPocket 6K camera, I have these SSD drive holders mounted on the far right! Sooo much more sleek, out of the way, and symmetrically effective. It is easy to secure the drive, and secure the cable head. I haven’t had to adjust the two mounting screws yet... so rest assured that even with heavy use, you won’t feel “preoccupied” with gear concerns... allowing you to remain focused on the shoot itself.
