Had always used the crappy vent provided by the store. This is WAY WAY better. More durable, easier to attach, and works great. Wish I would have known about this years ago

The 4 layers of construction mean it's thicker and more protected. I got one of those squirrel-cage fans for my working area that puts out a power blast of fast-moving air from the 8 inch register and tried to find a decent 8 inch vent hose to make the fan more multi-purpose. The Hon&Guan 8 inch 16 ft long air ducting fits on the rectangular output of the fan but it has to be widened to about 8 1/2 inches to go on, with a few laps of duct tape on the fan output and then over the exterior of the vent pipe to stop any air leaks makes it a good combination. Also furnished are 2 stainless steel clamps to use for the most secure connection at either end. I don't think I need a clamp but I'll have the right size if I need a tighter connection. Turning on the fan with the vent hose provides output to the NEXT room (or to the outside) and will also take any fumes or vapors out of the working area and vent them to the outside. Great for comfort and safety! Unlike the coiled-wire vent hose with only a single aluminum-foil layer, this 4 layer hose will last for a very long time and is sturdy enough to allow for repair with duct tape because the other (internal) layers will be difficult to damage.

Back story: main AC system went out. Bought a new portable for downstairs and already had a portable ac unit upstairs. No exhaust vent, so I back it up to the sliders and exhaust the hot air out the door. Wanted the unit closer to the bedroom and bought this hose. Hose got extremely hot, and put off an odor. I switched the hose to blow cool air into the area I wanted. Works fantastic in that aspect.

I used it for the bathroom, this is the second time I'm buying it, I really like the quality and the price

To be honest we just installed it about 15 minutes ago. Just started my washing machine so I haven't even had a chance to run the dryer yet. Putting it on was as expected, takes three hands and real pain to tighten up the screw on the clamp on the back of the dryer without an allen wrench type screwdriver. In all fairness this is true with any dryer vent hose. After I get a chance to do a load I'll update.

It got extremely hot on the plastic on the outside. Started melting, and it tore on first use. I'm sure it's fine for other purposes
