Is it easy to put on the eyelid?

Most of the colors are very pigmented and creamy and easy to work with,but there are a few that are not. I personally prefer to use my finger with these. Idk if this answers your question

What is the difference in the packaging?

The colors are not as bright as the pictures show. Beautiful colors but no where as bright as shown. Just a warning.

Are the two pallets separate and can you carry them in a large purse?

Yes, you can separate the pallets when you open up the case and take them out and i believe they will fit nicely into a large purse. The pallet itself is quite compact. I love it!
