Timberland Men's Altamont Fisherman

I loved these shoes initially. The uppers are quality. Unfortunately the bottom tread is made of poor quality material and is actually hollow, leading to holes if you do much walking. The holes also cause the shoes to squeak for days after walking on wet ground. See attached pics.I sent the pics to Timberland in an email along with my Amazon purchase information, but Support would not send a replacement pair without making me jump through hoops to return the ones I bought. (Even though Timberland is aware of this design/material flaw, had photos, and had the Amazon purchase info [screenshots of the entire purchase].)By producing a shoe they had to know would fail within a year and not making adequate effort to address customer problems with it, Timberland has lost my family's business for years to come, and I'll recommend others avoid their products.In contrast, I have other brands that have lasted me 20 years, e.g., a pair of Clarks from the 90's that I still wear. These Timberlands lasted less than a year with only intermittent use.

I ordered these along with two other fisherman sandal choices, these the most expensive were by far the best choice.By virtue of the design, the large toe box with stitched openings and a wide stance design, comfort seemed assured. But Timberland has also provided a remarkably generous leather cushioned insole that feels almost like the interior of a bedroom slipper. Indeed I sometimes slip these on in lieu of a slipper. The outtersole is of athletic shoe design and provides abundant cushioning. A feature that adds to the shoes cushiony feel is the inclusion of three rounded soft rubber tubes running almost the length of the sole which does much I think to make each foot placement virtually shock free.I wore these for three weeks in the South of France and Northern Italy doing much walking and never once looked forward to taking them off at the end of the day. Most comfortable shoes I ever owned? At 71 I can't remember all of them, but let's just say they are the most comfortable shoes in recent memory!

PLUS. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned, such that I want to wear them all the time. MINUS. On a smooth and moist or damp floor, they are nothing short of LETHAL. They are so slippery that you had better be a performer at Cirque du Soleil or you are going to break your neck the first time you venture out onto an even s-l-i-g-h-t-l-y slippery surface. It is not the black rubber sole that is slippery, but the three long bars (of a light brown color) that run two-thirds of the length of the sole and that are made of a different silicon-like material. After all these years, Timberland does not seem to be aware of this problem, amazingly enough!

I'm always wearing Rockport 10.5 2E Oxford. I had choose Timberland sandal at size of 10 2E.It's feel like fit exactly and comfortable with those two different brand shoes. So, I'm assume this Timberland Sandal is slightly 1/2 sizes larger than Rockport Oxford.Anyways, it's really very comfortable and only complain maybe it's slightly heavy than other usual sandal like Columbia... However, Timberland Fisherman sandal is made of leather and feel more elegant looking!!!

~Have been wearing these nicely ventilated size-13 Alltamont Fisherman shoes for at least a month now without socks, -in total comfort! This particular Altamont-model features a proper instep-declivity forming the traditional Heel portion, -which they seem to have eliminated on the latest iteration of this great shoe; --i don't like the more recent Flat-bottom (-no defined Heel) and would not have purchased a pair of those heel-less versions (-big design mistake in my opinion). The Velcro-strap is ultimately convenient, -and one need only barely touch the strap to its mating portion to obtain a never-fail securement (-best not to press together excessively, -as to do so only tends to unnecessarily wear the looks & loops comprising the ingenious Velcro-closure). The urethane-resin sole is comprised of cleat-like nodules which rally act effectively to grip a hillside terrain; -and the tough Urethane is showing no sign of wear (-granted i don't shuffel/scuff my feet)! I like the restraint the designers used in providing relatively narrow vent-spacing, --lends ample ventilation while substantially reducing the likelihood of pebbles and sticks of twigs entering there-through! Also very much like the light-Tan color of the real-Leather upper-portion. Thus far owing the more firm (-non-foam cushion) insole, --it seems that the pesky problem with insole-wear in the frontal-region will not be a problem with this shoe! Not a budget shoe at $100, but really after test-driving'em for a month now, --i simply couldn't be more pleased!

I am very pleased with the shoe.leather soft as I feel if should be beating in mind the very expense of the item. I will giv it a 5star rating

Después de solo dos semanas de uso, ya hay desgaste significativo en la banda de rodadura. Tengo 70 años y camino lentamente y con cuidado, por lo que el desgaste debe ser mínimo. Debido a que las suelas están moldeadas, no pueden ser reparadas. Timberlands tiene una reputación de excelencia; Este par, aunque caro, es muy decepcionante.

My favourite sandal: enclosed heel & toe minimizes risk of damage to feet on a hike. Good quality leather, acceptable foot bed & sole (molded plastic, but good quality). Flat foot bed accepts orthotics (a must for me). Stitching is usually the first thing to go (I've bought three pair over the years) but is easily repaired, by me or a shoe repair guy. I use a pair as indoor slippers. Terrific product, but hard to find and generally only available as a seasonal product. I hope Timberland continues to make these for many years to come. They're a timeless design and hard to improve upon.

Son muy caras para los sueldos que ganamos en España, las compre en USA porque estaban rebajadas mas de un 70%.La verdad que son muy comodas pero no valen el precio de casi 300€.
