DMC Etoile Floss Collector's Tin (35 Colors)

This is a very nice collection to have on hand Floss is very soft and fluffy with a little twinkle and it is much easier to work with and then using the DMC Moline or metallic thread I am quite disappointed that Amazon shipped in a plastic package instead of a cardboard box because the display box was all dented up, but they are replacing it

The colors are beautiful, love the sparkle in them! These work well for a special holiday embroidery project but I like working with the regular cotton threads better. These take some getting used to and they do look great on my project. One draw back is the skeins don't have as much thread as the regular ones so plan accordingly. I will enjoy keeping these on hand when I need a little extra sparkle added to a project!

The floss is gorgeous, easy to use, and the tin is surprisingly nice and could be repurposed for a variety of uses, such as making a small sketching kit.

Bought this for myself. This was the best price I found for the set. The threads are beautiful with their glimmer and shine. I also have the gold tin with the new colors in it. I only use DMC floss as it is the best. If I am going to spends months working on a needlepoint picture I want it to look the best it can as the picture is usually going to be a gift for someone I love. I do not want cheap thread that tangles when I try to separate it or does not lie evenly once stitched. I just ordered the complete set of threads from DMC. I wanted to have every colors for when I want to change up some of the colors in a kit.

First this set is about $20 less than all the other sellers, score! For those who complain about the price… are you crazy? It’s a few cents above ONE dollar per skein. That’s the same price as regular floss at the store. AND you get a neat tin. I personally don’t care about the tin because I’m a bobbin kinda girl, but others seem to get upset when there's a ding in the packaging. I mean it’s more expensive to buy these individually without a tin, and if you’re only buying it for an aluminum box there are cheaper empty boxes out there. Also did you know that you can get dings out of tin right? But I digress. Secondly this thread is simply fabulous! It’s light, airy, and sparkly what’s not to love? It’s easy to work with and looks amazing. Just use shorter lengths at a time than you would with regular DMC floss. I mostly use it for accents to bring more life to a project, it really does make a plain piece shine. I do like how the color numbers of the Etoile match the numbers for the same color of regular DMC floss. It makes matching them up easy peasy lemon squeezy! If you are on the fence you should take the plunge and buy these now. Totally worth it. It’s activated my hoarder button and I’ve already bought it twice. Side note after reading all the reviews beeching about dented tins I’m thinking of putting the two NON dented tins I received up on eBay. I could probably buy a third set of skeins with the proceeds! My fingers are crossed that DMC expands the collection to include ALL the color! Buy it!

The tin was dented but all of the threads were perfect. I love this soft/sparkly thread version

The colors of the floss are beautiful and the collectors tin arrived in perfect condition. This Etoile floss will add just enough elegant sparkle to many designs without overdoing it.
