Pretty sure it’s taller than 19 inches, pretty sure whoever was sent something that was actually 19 inches was sent the wrong item and needs to reach out to Amazon. **Q: Does this have screws that anchor the base? Do the screws come in contact with the floor, potentially causing scratching?** A: There are two large screws. One screws the two roped sections together and one that screws the scratching post to the base. No screws have contact with the floor **Q: I have been waiting for this since may. it’s now the end of july. it won’t let me cancel the order or get my money back. what do i do??** A: I would try to return. Its completely hollow covered in carpet and staples. My kitty got on and it fell right on him. But the base was still on the ground. **Q: Is the square base one solid piece or two?** A: The premium post is two pieces that combine into a bigger base. The basic has one piece. ## Frequently Bought Together - Amazon Basics Cat Scratcher - Indoor Classic Single Cat & Kittens Scratching Post, Medium (31.5"H) - Grey - MeoHui Interactive Cat Toys - Retractable Wand Toy and Feather Toys Refills for Indoor Cats to Chase and Exercise - Best Pet Supplies Catify Sloped Sisal Cat Scratchers for Indoor Cats, Climbing Ramp Fun and Interactive Indoor Play, Supports Natural Pet Behaviors, Heavy Duty - Gray --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.nz/products/96122219-cat-scratching-post-for-indoor-cats-and-kittens-medium-31](https://www.desertcart.nz/products/96122219-cat-scratching-post-for-indoor-cats-and-kittens-medium-31) --- *Product available on Desertcart New Zealand* *Store origin: NZ* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
