Food Drying vol. 1: How to Dry Fruit Paperback – October 4, 2013

This book has been the most helpful of the 4 I purchased although it does not have page numbers for referencing. It has a lot of recipes from different types of fruits. The book describes about food dehydrating and how to pretreat and preserve also.

This a very good, well written description of drying fruit. It contains instruction for some fruits I would never have thought to dry. Cantaloupe and watermelon. I will have to try them next summer. Drying fruit and vegetables takes up so much less space than freezing or canning. I would thing this is the best reference book I have read on drying.

the author makes it very easy to know what to do. I have been trying to dry fruit for years with limited success. I feel I can't go wrong with these instructions. finally will be able yo enjoy my lemons year round.

Any book that can help me continue in my adventure of dehydrating food is a win!

This book is incredibly useful for the average food dehydrator. Jones notes how to recognize a ripe fruit, whether special preparation is required and finally, and most helpful, estimated drying times so that the dryer isn't watching and sampling numerous times during the process!

Not very concise, seems written by someone who doesn't have a good grasp of the English language. Some good info, but lots of it not-so-useful.

Love the free books. Trying to get into the whole canning, drying, dehydrating, etc. These are easy read items I can download to my iphone

Looks like an interesting book and seems to cover what I need as a novice dehydrator, but, whilst the index seems comprehensive, actually finding the items you are looking for is complicated by the fact that it has no page numbers on the pages!!

this is a very infomative book and explains how to safely dry your own fruit. being american it does talk about a lot of produce i dont know but the principle is the same
