Premium Copal Incense 40 Sticks, Big Bag

On a recent visit to the Yucatan, Mexico, I had the good fortune to experience a Mayan ceremony in which copal incense was used. I loved the scent and smoke and was able to purchase some incense sticks there. At home, I looked for more. This is the same brand I bought in Mexico. Copal is a tree resin and the scent is a mixture of wood smoke and a spicy note. Not sweet or like perfume-y. I use the sticks daily for my meditation time and am very satisfied with the brand.

I had previously purchased the box with the thinner Copal sticks from the same vendor. The scent was wonderful. Once they were all used I looked for the exact same sticks and I couldn’t find them but same vendor offers thicker longer sticks that, 1) they don’t fit in the box draw or the box itself. 2) the scent is different. The thicker longer sticks scent is smokier and not a sweet. So I feel cheated.

The smell is wonderful and the burn is super slow. Lasts very long! I’ve bought this 20 pack and also the 40 pack. Definitely recommend.

This is not really copal. It is not chunky and sweet smelling in the way only pure copal can be. It's a tiny bit of copal mixed with something else. 40 sticks! I likely will not use them again because I don't know what I'm burning.
