The cover is microfiber & the sleeve is some kind of plastic. **Q: How long can this product be used, is it easy to be damaged by water?** A: Not sure what your question is but it will stand up for a good paint job. Water wise.... I think you're asking if it gets damaged cleaning after the fact. I washed one and it does loose its nap. For the price, it's easier just to toss after a job or I might wrap in plastic and store in the freezer if I plan on reusing in the next few weeks-months. **Q: Will this work for drywall mud?** A: I haven't tried for mudding but it may work. I would get the 1/2" in place of the 3/8" nap for a better chance of it working.
