The curry was packaged 10/2013 and has an expiration date of 9/2016. Although I take the expiration date as a sell by date. The last curry powder I had expired 18 months before I finished using it. The new curry tasted the same to me. **Q: Is this product gluten-free?** A: The ingredients are: Coriander Seeds, Turmeric, Chillies, Cumin Seeds, Fenugreek Seeds, Fennel Seeds, Trifala & Nagkeser (Fragrant Spices), Cloves, Cassia, Garlic, Curry Leaves and Salt. **Q: Is this hot?** A: Heat is quite individual taste. My assessment is that it is mild to medium. One member in our home can not eat hot stuff. So when I use this, I add no additional red or black peppers. It is quite authentic and delicious for us. **Q: What is expiration date of product** A: It has a 2 year exp. Date. Will continue to purchase as this seasoning is important in our household. ### ā­ā­ā­ā­ā­ Madras Curry - this is the real deal! *by C***R on September 29, 2024* This is Madras Curry at its best and as I remembered from authentic Indian cuisine. Intense flavor, balanced, round, elegant with no single ingredient overpowering the other. It is spicy but the spiciness comes from the ginger which I love as opposed to the chili which I cannot stand. Yet the mix is so well balanced that the ginger flavor cannot be readily distinguished from the other ingredients. Strong smell but I love it as that is how Madras Curry is supposed to smell and what Madras Curry is supposed to be when used, in my experience. The tin is lovely. Great quantity for the price. My tin came with an expiration date of 02/2026 (bought Sept 28, 2024).
