Got a set of these so my preschool class could cut up their own fruit for a fruit salad at the end of the school year and it worked great! I even used them to cut lemons in half for making lemonade and they were plenty sharp, yet still safe enough for me to feel comfortable giving them to a room full of 3 year olds! Perfect size and many of the kids wanted to take the knives home to cut their food at home too!

I teach elementary students to cook and these knives are safe for them to use. They learn safe cutting skills, but I have 25+ students and only 2 eyes. The knives are affordable and sturdy compared to other lettuce knives. They cut through pretty much any fruit or vegetable like: onion, garlic, cabbage, zucchini, carrots, tomatoes, lemons, and apples. Students will learn they have to push down pretty hard and use a sawing motion. They are not effective on extremely hard foods like butternut squash. This summer I included a lettuce knife in recipe kits because some students said they are not allowed to use real knives in their kitchen at home.
